Maintenance over for the day

After about 11 hours (with a break to walk the dog!) of testing and debugging the new notifications system, we made great strides.

However, we're going to need another testing session before I feel comfortable completely replacing the old version. So, for now, everything should be back to normal -- a bit later in the week, we'll have another maintenance session and see if we can't get that final polish on it that it needs.
