In the world of Eprelia, there exists a separate, parallel dimension known as the Echo World, or simply the Echo for short. Known commonly as Hell, the Echo World is a plane of existence only accessible by demons or demonic beings, and is the home world of these entities.

The Echo World is made up of several smaller planes belonging to different types of demons. Succubi, for example, occupy a realm known as Lust in Human tongue. Each realm is ruled by a Demon King or Queen, but all of their identities are currently unknown.

As the Echo World is a separate dimension from Eprelia, it is impossible to traverse between the two worlds by normal means. Not even demons can accomplish such a feat, with the only exception being Succubi, who commonly travel to Eprelia to prey on Humans for their spirit. However, their constant traveling between the worlds has left rifts between them in certain parts of both realms that can be used from either side.

This is exactly how demons have made their way into the Eprelia in the past. In order to prevent a full-on demon invasion (Holy Magic is known to be effective against demons, so it isn't as big a danger as it seems), legally registered Succubi are to be supervised 24/7 by a Holy Knight, and are expressly forbidden from returning to the Echo World.

The only confirmed species of demon are Succubi. Though other demons have appeared in the past, none have been caught or allowed themselves to be studied, so any other types currently remain a mystery.
