  • Libras:

    The Libra were creations of the endless primordial force of death, these creations were given a small portion of Death's power to aid the dark lady in harvesting the souls of the living. The pocket watches the Libra carry are the link to their creator though they retain some lesser variant of Death's inherent ability the pocket watch increases this connection and improves their efficiency while using these abilities. Creatures of balance given control over life and death, a Libra may only take or give time to those who the primordial forces have deemed ready and have been judged. The pocket watch all of the Libra carry designates to the being what remains of another's lifespan. Very few creatures ever even see these creatures until their final moments as the Libra comes to collect them and add their soul to the collective to be refreshed, stripped clean and reincarnated into a new vessel. The Libra are very duty bound creatures who were given life for a singular purpose; should they deviate from this purpose a renegade is formed in which case the offender is cursed with the face of death. The Libras live outside the time spectrum thus giving them an immortal's lifespan which makes them immune to the effects of their brethren though that isn't to say they are completely immortal in any regards. The purpose of never showing themselves to other beings is to keep themselves from being attacked before the penultimate moment of weakness. Though they are balance incarnate they are ultimately pure beings that enact a Midas' touch of sorts on the physical world; turning things they touch to platinum. The pocket watch the Libras carry is far more than a tracker and stopwatch for their targets but also a medium for their powers of essence drain and life touch abilities (See: Powers).

    Powers:

    Libra pocket watch - The pocket watch controls the time a creature(s) has remaining. [This effect is solely story line in nature and cannot be used in battle outside the essence drain effect's limitations.] The watch also acts as a medium for a Libra's natural latent powers to make them more precise in nature and more battle viable. The watch releases a foreboding presence itself known as "The Final Moments" this is an aura skill surrounding the watch and carrier within their aura's radius that simulates the feelings and sensations of the final moments of life. Without the watch a Libra's powers are diminished by half.

    Essence drain - Libras drain the life essence (whatever energy is keeping the creature alive and fighting) with this ability. This ability only works within the aura radius of the Libra though it may have many applications for use. The skill works along the lines of an activated aura skill and will siphon continuously until either the time limit (30 minutes)is up or the battle ends, the Libra is incapacitated or the opponent is no longer capable of resisting and gives in. This ability is enhanced by use of the pocket watch. (This effect takes full effect after ten posts of the Libra player . With consideration for the fact that each motion between the Libra player and opponent this will equate to roughly three minutes a piece thus a thirty minute time limit. For the full essence drain to occur the opponent must be kept within the range of the aura skill from activation to completion otherwise it only works as a simple sapping skill that drains power or energy.)

    Life Touch - This acts as a healing technique used to replenish those who attack after they are defeated or grant more time to the dying. This ability can also grant souls or "life" to constructs such as golems of some sort so long as they are natural in construction. (I.e. A wood or stone golem would be granted life but a necromantic flesh golem is an unnatural creature thus would gain no energy or sentience from this ability and remain in its dead state.)[This power is activated by the pocket watch ONLY]

    Sanctimonium - Libra are "pure" beings having no desire for fleshly pleasures or sinful conduct (this is not to say they is above them however they are naturally prone toward neutrality and see these things as a waste of their time for the most part). The act of a Libra being present purifies the area and changes the atomic structure to the purity of platinum. [Note: They are NOT a holy being. Due to the purity of their nature between each the area around them for ten feet is purified to platinum. It has no holy properties what-so-ever though the land is "pure" in structure.]

    Flight - Though not always visible Libras do have a pair of wings enabling them sustained flight for varied periods of time depending on their levels of exhaustion.

    Illusions - As mentioned earlier a Libra is capable of making themselves visible or invisible. This is due to a slight affinity for illusion magics. Though incapable of world altering effects the Libra as a whole are capable of skewing perception slightly within the range of another being's vision regarding themselves. This means a Libra is fully capable of a 'disappearing act' in which they are no longer visible to perception. This ability can have many applications but none larger than the area directly affecting a Libra.


    Libras are primarily neutral characters with the Pures being true neutral, Renegades falling under chaotic or lawful neutral and Gluttons falling under neutral evil or chaotic evil. This is not to say a Libra is not capable of displaying other alignments but these are the typical "norm" for the race (Aside from Pures who are ALWAYS true neutral). For clarification purposes I present you this image.

  • Calssifications

    Pure:

    A pure is the truest form of neutrality. They do their jobs without question to the letter. These members of the race take an oath of neutrality and will rarely intervene in anything outside their jobs being compromised. Many pure will enact pacts with Renegades to aid them in such things as hunting down Gluttons that are running rampant or to go do jobs that are against their moral code but are deemed necessary.

    Class perk: A Pure has an aura range of 20 feet with a higher affinity for magic though are less combat inclined. The natural skills of a Libra are further enhanced to inhuman levels but they tend to be rather frail due to their lack of combat expertise should someone wish to fight them.

    Renegade:

    The banished children of the Libra. A renegade is one who showed slight bias toward one direction or another. By showing some form of bias or failing their job these Libras are cast from the collective and are barred from aether realms or afterlife domains. These Libra are cursed with the visage of death meaning they are forever marked with some form of skeletal markings upon their body to brand them a renegade.

    Class perks: While their main defining feature is their ability to enact more human characteristics of personality they have a smaller aura range than before their fall (reduced by half to 10 feet). The Libras are a bit more unpredictable and are prone to taking on additional feats of magic or equipment to round out their loss. Many are also more prone to combat for defensive purposes.

    Glutton:

    Gluttons are Libras who have gone to moral extremism. Though initially renegades they quickly grew to become solely intent on self gratification. Whether this means ecstasy or sadism the Gluttons are creatures of pure emotion and hedonists for their various vices. They exhibit the same markings as a renegade but are prone to being very vain and use a glamour to hide their branding. Gluttons are hunted as heretics in a witch trial to re-balance the karmic scales and restore neutrality to the world. A single Glutton can prove a destructive force by offsetting reality itself as something that should not be.

    Class perks: Gluttons lose another five feet of their aura skills, making them a radial effect of five feet around the Glutton. However it generally takes time for this effect to apply, thus meaning while their natural affinities for their natural abilities deteriorate they have ample time to become a monstrous combative force. Along with having hedonist personalities a Glutton is highly insatiable in their desires, they will pursue things to the point of a crazed obsession.
