Code Of Conduct

  • Staff Code of Conduct

All staff are volunteers and are only as committed as they choose to be and are able to be. However if you are unable to uphold the duties expected of you as a staff member of the dream then you may find yourself removed from the position. You will not be removed without notice at any point and will be contacted by the Rah directly if this course of action needs to be taken.

    • Follow the dream and staff rules.
(These rules should be upheld and maintained at all times.)
    • Moderation - Staff are allowed moderate in order to keep the dream running smoothly. However there are things to remember before moderating.

      THINK

Your words will be taken with a great influence because you are staff and we want to make sure the dream is a good experience for everyone, even the butt heads. So always remember to THNK before you act.

      T - Is it thoughtful
      H - Is is honest
      I - Is it inspiring
      N - Is it necessary
      K - Is it kind

    • Reports - If you are approached by a member of the community who wishes to report a conflict ask their permission to share logs of their report with the rest of the staff first. You may talk to them to ease tension, but do not get directly involved in the conflict before reporting it in the Discord staff chat.
    • Disciplinary Actions - Any and all reports given to staff by members of the community must be brought to the staff chat on Discord FIRST. This is where the we will discuss and determine a plan of action in response to the report, once a solution has been determined a staff member agreed upon will make contact with the necessary members of the community.

Staff will not get involved in personal affairs.

If someone approaches you with a personal problem between themselves and another player, you should remind them of the 'silence rule' and suggest that they make a guardian report if the problem continues to escalate. We will not 'banish' someone just because they have a problem with another player, it depends entirely on on the individuals to handle their own business.

Any excessive reports about an individual from various sources will be taken into consideration and dealt with by the Rah or Taneestas directly.

Staff will not excessively police OOC conversation.

While the OOC area is a place for people to let down their hair, it's also an area that will be filled with adults. Mature and 'R rated' conversation is bound to happen and people will likely get a little rowdy and excited, it's going to happen because this is a dream populated with adults.
      Let them adult.

Only if one of the dream rules is being broken publicly may you then moderate the situation and approach individuals as necessary. This should be handled by OOC staff only.
    • Actively role playing in the dream. - If you are staff you are expected to be 'active' in the dream and because COS is a strict role play dream being 'active' means role playing! Especially if you are a staff member. You can role play privately and publicly, but you are also expected to make an effort to get involved in role play with members of the community. It is through your interaction that others can expand their experience in the dream, as well as expand your own. Role play is a web of networks that is all connected in order to maintain diversity in design and strength as a community, and you are an important part of that design.

(If you are unable to actively role play in the dream for a period of time for whatever reason, please communicate this with the Rah.)
    • Hosting, participating in and promoting dream events. - All staff are hired for this reason in particular. While the community members can host events of their own, it is primarily up to staff to promote role play within the dream. Staff members will be expected to host various events at their leisure, you are welcome to design large scale impact events and small scale events related to the current dream plot or general activities.
