There was a plague running rampant, that was the influence of a god, that would take over your mind, and leave you an empty husk, no more than an animal... It is what killed all of the animals save for a few that were immune somehow. Everything infected tried to kill me on sight, so I had to put them down with the help of some friends that passed away a while ago...
