(He has never been this close to ANYONE before. He distanced himself from everyone he met because to him, being close to him was a death sentence. He has never considered even living this long, as he was prepared to sacrifice himself to save Hallownest, but ended up finding another way that allowed him to live. So he has never considered this kind of thing before.)
