August 19th 2022, 5:00pm - 10:00pm

The poster notes that thralls will be needed for serving, providing entertainment, and companionship during the event. Anyone who is interested in signing up for this extra duty may contact Dianna at their convenience. Thralls who participate will obtain badges based on their performance. You can see below for the present openings of who has already signed up. Any slaves who are owned by patrons will have their rental fee's covered for the evening to attend.

The following thralls have already signed up for the event. If a free person desires to take one of these opportunities (like the musician) they will be considered if no thralls volunteer for the night.
Formal ‘costume’ clothing and masks are required to attend. If you do not have a mask, one will be magically provided to you upon entry. If your face is not covered by something when entering the ballroom, one will magically appear on you. It is designed to fit your face perfectly and you will find it impossible to take off before the end of the night. You can roll a 1d10 to get a random animal (Steer, Lamb, Orangutan, Coyote, Ferret, Lion, Mouse, Kitten, Chicken, or Impala) and then use this website to generate a random design around that theme. If your character gets a mask they don’t like, they can always ask Lady Dianna to alter it for them.

A masquerade ball is an event in which many participants attend in costume wearing a mask. Costumes can be themed after colors, time periods, animals, etc. A masquerade ball usually encompasses music and dancing. The idea behind a masquerade ball is elegance, sophistication, and strong theatrical moments of entertainment.

Nope! The idea of the mask isn’t to hide who you are. It’s just for fun. If your character desires to hide their identity, they absolutely can. This is not a requirement, however, and should you wish to do this? Be prepared that some players will not realize you’re ‘hiding’ your identity, and could out you faster than you’d like. We encourage people to be mindful of people playing that angle to have some fun.

Some special wines will be made available from Lady Dianna's personal collection during the dinner-- and the dragon promises that they'll be enjoyable with mostly harmless effects. Anyone who tries the 'Wyvern Wine' must roll a 1d20, and if you roll under 15 you are considered intoxicated and will have a random magic effect. You can rolled with a 1d10 from this table for the effect.

The main event of this Masquerade is of course the ball-- but it is not just any ball. There will be a 'scored' dance where attendants will have a chance to win beautifully sculpted artwork by Trishields and Starface. These items will have magic enchantments placed on them by Dianna that your character will discover on their own...

- You must have a dance partner to qualify for this event.
- The dance will only be two rounds long. Each round will be 30 minutes to allow everyone to post AT LEAST once.
- You will be visually notified in game when the rounds start and end.
- Any duets competing must make 1d20 rolls (one roll per person) BEFORE their post. People who feel they can explain why their character is skilled in dancing may add a +2 to any of their dance rolls. Your post needs to reflect the quality of your dice roll.
- The couple with the highest cumulative score will win first pick from a selection of beautifully designed jewelry pieces made for the event.
- Whoever wins second place will get second pick.
- There will be no third place, but instead, a raffle between all remaining attendants to see who wins the final piece of jewelry. Everyone who shows up will be entered for this draw, regardless of if you danced or not. If you win the dance competition your name is removed from the raffle. You can not win twice.
