    The Map

Set within the world presented by Red Dead Redemption 2, IC events will take place across four fictional territories:

    New Hanover
New Hanover is the vastest of the three territories, presenting immense expanses of grasslands and foliage.

The territory is characterized by varied biomes and it comprises three regions. Northeast is where the densely forested Cumberland Forest is located. To the east is the hilly and foggy Roanoke Ridge. The Heartlands reside at the very centre; the founding region of the original Heartland Gang.

There are notable towns and villages situated within the territory. As such, a significant presence of outlaws and bandits roam around the area. The territory is in the process of colonization, and is subject to the growing presence of law and governance. Regardless, there are still patches of land where there are no settlers, and is thusly teeming with wildlife.

    Ambarino
Ambarino is highly elevated, mostly barren territory.

The territory is characterized by mountains, spots of water, and steep cliffs. Most of the area is covered in dense snow, frozen bodies of water, and glaciers. It is one of the few regions that are untamed and unexplored due to the sparse number of inhabitants living in the area. Bears and wolves are prominent within Ambarino's wildlife, and present real danger towards travellers.

Geographically, Ambarino is a massive area divided into two constituent regions: Grizzlies East and Grizzlies West. Between the two divisions, Grizzlies West is the more dangerous territory to explore due to its area being surrounded by mountain ranges. Grizzlies East, on the other hand, is rockier and more forested, with sparse snow cover and an isolated Indian reservation situated in the area. Due to the territory's affinity for snowstorms, outlaws seldom hide amidst these mountains unless truly frightened.

    Lemoyne
Lemoyne is the smallest, but most developed territory out of the four.

Lemoyne has three smaller regions: Scarlett Meadows, Bayou Nwa and Bluewater Marsh. A prison island called Sisika Penitentiary is located not far from the territory. Lemoyne is bordered by New Hanover territories to the north and the rest are bordered by bodies of water: Flat Iron Lake to the east and Lannahechee River to the west and south.

The area is mostly characterized by the massive crawl of industrialization and unique biomes. The state's capital, the former French colony Saint Denis, is located on the eastern shore of the state. Factories and orchards litter the swamplands; plantations and agricultural farms can be found by the west. Notable plantations in Lemoyne are Caliga Hall and Braithwaite Manor, belonging to the feuding Gray and Braithwaite families, respectively.

In the past, Lemoyne was a member of the short lived Confederate States of America during the Civil War (1861-1865), with many citizens of the state fighting against the North. Remnants of Civil War battlefields can be found deep within the meadows of the territory. Lemoyne is also the base of the gang/ex-Confederate militia movement called the Lemoyne Raiders.

    West Elizabeth:
West Elizabeth is composed of three constituent regions: Tall Trees, Great Plains, and Big Valley.

In 1911, West Elizabeth is characterized as being the most modern and industrialized settlement in the West, the thriving port town of Blackwater, which also serves as the state's capital. The state is distinguished from others due to its uniformed police force, cobbled roads, and named streets.

In 1899 and 1907, it is preceded by Saint Denis in Lemoyne as a place of modernity. Regardless, it is still the modernized town in the West. Blackwater during this time is a port town going under the process of industrialization judging from the newly constructed structures sprouting within the town. As such, there is no built railway that passes Blackwater going to New Austin. Pacific Union Railroad Camp didn't exist at that time.

There are two major settlements in West Elizabeth: Blackwater and Strawberry. There are also camps, ranches, and homesteads that dot within the territory. It is home to a large number of Native Americans, of whom have mostly come to accept colonial integration.
