The Internet remains a global system of interconnected telecommunications networks that exchange information through standardized protocols. Billions of devices communicate through fiber-optic cables, satellites, wireless infrastructure, and data centers spanning local and planetary scales.
Most citizens interact with the Internet through their Stack: the personal ecosystem of connected devices and systems surrounding them that is generally woven into their Credentials. A person's stack may include their deck, a home rig, comms, wearables, cyberware, household systems, vehicle, AI assistants, entertainment systems, medical portals, and government-linked services.
Information exists as layered augmented reality overlays, floating windows, and holographic displays. Most use personal AI assistants to assemble information as opposed to manually browsing and clicking, though source websites, archives, forums, and databases still exist.
