    Alapaka’el- Small descendent of Alpaca, bred for its soft and thick wool but also for its short stature to reduce ecological foot print.

    Ali’i - One of the highest castes in Olmeid reserved for royalty and monarchy, however the monarchy caste was eliminated during the elven wars years ago.

    Ali’el - Lesser nobility or merchants that grew to the level of nearly monarchy.

    Ata Coast- East southern east coast of the Llopek isle of Olmeid Llopek

    Ata - Village on the edge of the ata coast that gives it the name. Used to be a large bustling city but has diminished over years from invasions, disease and famine. In a state of recovery.

    Ata’el - Means Little Ata, A large city that has grown up in the heart of the Ata Coast Jungle alongside a great river that was diverted to feed the city some twenty odd years ago.

    Atua / Akua - The word for gods or deities

    Aumakua - Lesser deities or ancestral spirits that watch over families. They are known to shape shift and aid families in times of need.

    Baktun - Period of twenty year cycle where the island’s stars and tides change considerably.

    Caste System - System of structuring Olmeidian classes into ranked social hierarchies.

    Chaaka - A religious ball game similar to the mayan ball game played in an arena with vertical hoops and bouncing the ball off the body without letting it touch the ground.

    Elven Wars - Periods of over a century long war with the foreign adversary of elves that had colonized the island for so long. Also known as the Revolutionary Wars

    Fa’afafina - caste and entire spectrum of alternative gender from binary man and woman roles. This caste is known to take on roles of other genders, and also be allowed to ignore tapus. They are thought to be gifted with a spiritual connection but also may be associated with tricksters. Many become kahunas, or special people in their society.

    Folio - Books made from the bark of the paper mulberry tree and folded to make literature and printed with glyphs.

    Glyphs - Writing formation of the Olmeidians passed down by the Maiians.

    Haka- War chant is also used to honor someone or scare away enemies. Performed by chanting loudly, slapping parts of the body, widening the eyes and holding out the tongue.

    Hale - open aired structure or lean to where communal food is prepared, and shared, and where news and socialization occurs.

    Haole - Outsider caste, or those foreign to the islands and not born on the island. Can be an insult.

    Heka- a major city of the Ka’ana’ana on the south part of the island, south of a large island.

    Hula - Sacred dance that varies across the island, and is used to tell stories as well as honor the gods and spirits.

    Ka’ana’ana - Nobility family known to work with spirits and are matriarchal.

    Kanaka - Subjects of the nobility caste

    Kahuna - Special caste of spiritual leaders but also experts in technology, history, magic, and more. They are the caste that people can earn their way into.

    Kauwa /Kaua - Social outcast, slaves or castless. Reserved for criminals or those born between unions of two different castes or humans mixed with elven or oni blood.

    Kava Kava - also known as Kava, bitter drink derived from the kava kava plant which is a cousin of the arrowroot. It has calming effects but also numbing effects of the mouth.

    Koa - Special wood known for its hardness used to make weapons.

    Kukui - Tree known for its many uses in wood, and nuts that are used for flammable oil or lei.

    Lapita Peoples - ancient race and ancestors of Olmeidians that traveled to the island from far away.

    Lei - special necklace of flowers, leaves, nuts or shells often given as gifts or offerings

    Leiomano - Club like weapon using the Koa wood and shark teeth.

    Leoleoata - Nobility family that is egalitarian but are known to be militaristic and cult like they are also known

    Llamedelos - Nobility family known to be the most hotheaded and likely to shift in power due to infighting that happens once every lifetime.

    Llopek - Large crescent shaped part of the island.

    Llopekish - Dialect of Olmeidian language that leans more towards Maiian and may be older.

    Lua - Sacred martial art indigenous to the island, prioritizing the breaking of limbs of enemies and using clubs.

    Macuahuitl - Obsidian bladed club that dates back to the Maiians.

    Maiians - Ancient ancestors of the Olmeidians.

    Majhilichite - Brittle magical ore found by ley-lines and volcanic deposits. Often used ceremonially and to commune with spirits and gods.

    Maka’ainoana / Malo - Commoner caste

    Mana /Manna / Muna - spiritual force that encompasses all things, can accumulate in a person of specific castes, deeds or luck.

    Mano - Shark

    Mano’i’i - Race of shark people native to Olmeid that dwell under the ocean, some come out onto land.

    Manualoka’i’i - Race of flightless parrot people native to Olmeid

    Melekahikehio - Nobility family that deals in debts and gambling.

    Menehune - Race of little people often described as hairy and often avoid daytime, credited with building many ancient temples and palaces.

    Mo’o - Sacred reptilian or dragon-like spirit that inhabit natural sources of magic, may act as guardians. Some are known to shape shift or eat people.

    Mo’oala’i’i - Race of gecko-like people, some clans are known to be female only and reproduce through parthenogenesis.

    Olmeid - Smaller island in the center of the atoll, or sometimes referred to the entire island itself.

    Olmeidenese / Olmeidian - Language spoken by the majority of the natives in Olmeid Llopek.

    Oni / Ork /Orc - Fearsome warrior race from an empire that attempted to invade the islands years ago, long before that, they aided in the revolutionary elven wars. This race comes in different colors, may have horns and speak Japanese.

    Puluwai - Nobility family renowned for their brutality and cultivating rumors of cannibalism.

    Tapu /Tabu / Taboo - Sacred restriction or taboo to avoid.

    Taro - Root vegetable similar to a sweet potato, food staple.
