YOUR CHARACTER COULD BE...
We have a few limits on inhuman creatures for power levels, but if you have any suggestions, feel free to PM.
HUMANS
Please note that regular humans are not aware of the existence of supernaturals.
1. Regular Human (Low Class/High Society)
To be human is to err. Your character is not as powerful as the rest, and is possibly ignorant to all of the supernatural going on. They can assist without knowing, but it's assumed that all humans are not privy to the inner workings of the supernatural.
2. Hunter
The majority of hunters are raised in a family of such. Others may decide to become one through motivations of vengeance or truth.
The majority of hunters specialize in killing a specific creature (e.g. vampires).
Hunters should be licensed by the monarchy, but there are also hunters in the underground black market that work illegally.
Licensed hunters can do harm without much punishment and they have the power to arrest.
It is not unheard of for a vampire or werewolf to hire a hunter to do their dirty work.
The Crown control licensed hunters to get rid of other creatures whilst keeping humans in the dark about the inner supernatural societies. The hunters often believe they are working for the greater good.
Black market hunters will often hunt anything if it's for the right price.
Hunters use a variety of weaponry (silver bullets, stakes, bows and arrows).
Hunters may specialize in more backend work, such as researching weaknesses of monsters and providing training to new hunters.
Much like wolves, hunters mostly work in packs; some prefer solo.
Hunters often enlist the assistance of dark and light witches.
3. Witch
Witch is a title to refer to both male and female.
There are two types of magic: light and dark. No witch can use both.
Some witches will aid hunters in their tasks.
Witches are as weak as humans in regards to their combat strength.
In order to become a witch, you need to be initiated into a coven who will train you and put you through a gruelling initiation rocess.
Initiation can occur at any age, and many coven leaders will seek out promising humans to train.
If you are born into a witch lineage, you are trained immediately and initiated by your family.
There are multiple types of covens - those based in family ties, and others.
Light Magic:
Light magic gains its power from nature, and is mostly used for potion-making and healing.
If a light witch does not have access to nature, their magic will drain and lifespan will shorten.
Light witches do not bare any mark from the sources feeding their power.
Light witches use potion books to aid them -- there are powerful spellbooks hidden in the world that a witch may want to seize to become stronger.
If a potion book belonging to a light witch is destroyed, the witch can lose their powers for eternity and become human.
Dark Magic:
Dark magic gains its power from the underworld, and can be rather dangerous. Their magic is spell-based, usually, and can vary depending on the demon aiding your power.
Dark witches have the assistance of a demon linked to them, much like praying to a god. If a dark witch does not have the assistance of a demon, their magic will drain and life span will shorten.
When the demon aids the dark witch, they leave a mark burned into their skin.
Dark witches use spell books to aid them -- there are powerful spellbooks hidden in the world that a witch may want to seize to become stronger.
If a spell book belonging to a dark witch is destroyed, the witch can lose their powers for eternity and become human.
SUPERNATURALS
Please note that vampires are believed to be exiled from Britain, so all vampires taking place in this RP shall be undercover.
4. Vampire
These are monsters who require human blood to consume in order to survive.
Upon consumption of human blood, they may retain skills and knowledge of the person they have killed for a short period of time.
Sunlight can harm them, and they cannot breed.
They are strong, but they are much faster than werewolves.
Their senses are heightened, particularly their eyesight.
Their footfalls are practically nonexistent.
Vampires do have a reflection and a shadow, but the reflection in a mirror is their image from the day they died.
The crave for blood is like an addiction; the older you are, the more you need, and more frequently.
They need to be invited into a home to enter it.
They are cold to the touch, and their skin feels waxlike.
One can turn into a vampire if they have a vampire's venom in their system when they die.
As they are immortal beings, vampires have had the time to collect mass amounts of wealth and power. (Unbeknownst to anyone in the RP: they occupy the highest seats in government and rule most of the United Kingdom. GASP!!!)
To kill a vampire, you need to cut off its head, burn the remains, and scatter the ashes on holy ground. To temporarily maim a vampire, you can use silver bullets or a wooden stake made of a rowan tree to stab in the heart.
5. Werewolves
What werewolves lack in social graces, they make up for in brute strength.
Their instincts are primal and they often travel in packs.
The werewolf gene is stronger than that of a human's. Meaning if they breed, the offspring will be more tethered to their werewolf side.
Werewolves are not immortal, but their aging slows upon reaching 25 years old. The record of the longest werewolf life states that he died at the age of 321 due to unnatural causes.
Their transformation on a full moon is extremely painful; they go on a rampage and struggle to control their urges. They are ravenous and will struggle to distinguish between people they know and strangers.
Most wolves do not remember what they did or how they acted during a full moon. They tend to have snippets of the events in their dreams, which can plague them for the entire 28 days of the Lunar cycle. The older they get, the more detail and clarity is presented in their dreams.
Werewolves are hereditary and one cannot be turned into one.
Werewolves have three forms. 1: Human. 2: A more humanoid werewolf who walks on two legs, is huge, furry and extremely frightening. 3: The type of wolf that appears on a full moon. These walk on four legs because of their size, are monstrous, extremely muscled and have little hair – they have dark skin.
Most wolves live in packs; humans are shunned. It is rare to see an interspecies relationship.
There are multiple packs within any given city/area. A werewolf pack is usually an alliance of bloodlines that have merged through marriage/pairing. A pack must always have a reigning family and a matriarch whose bloodline must flow in all the packs females. In order to take over the pack, the female line must be destroyed. This is also the reason why human women are not accepted in packs.
Some packs regard their females as precious because of the above and they are often not allowed to leave the den on their own.
To kill a werewolf, you use silver bullets to both heart and brain. It is recommended to skin the creature after it is killed to ensure its death.
RARE CREATURES
Please note that the making of these creatures is limited. Reach out to a mod before creating one.
6. Synthetic Human
Synthetic humans are created, not born. They are put into their body and must learn everything all over again, like an infant would. They cannot breed or feel the same level of human emotion, but can adapt over time to understand it.
They are forged from pieces collected over time; either with machinery, or synthetic skin patched together.
They have protective connections to their creators. They do not have nerve endings like humans so they cannot consciously feel pain.
To kill a synthetic human, you need to burn every limb, as single limbs can survive on their own.
7. Selkies
Selkies live in the murky waters of the River Thames.
They are like mermaids, only bloodthirsty and ready to feast.
During high tides on the new moon, they gather at the river banks or under the bridges to sing and lure men to their deaths.
To kill one, you first need to manage to catch one. Then, drag them onto land and let them dry. Pro tip: cover your ears.
8. Swamp Monsters
Also living in bodies of water, swamp monsters are the enemies of the Selkies.
They are anthropomorphic but covered in plant life such as reeds, coral, and algae.
They have hydrokinesis magic, so they are able to control the element of water and move the currents.
This also applies to them being able to control plant life and accelerate its growth.
Close friends of light witches, who rely on nature and plants to keep their magic flowing.
They are possessive over their territory.
Their race is entirely hereditary; they reproduce asexually via spores.
Some form romantic partners, but most live alone or with their offspring.
Much like trolls, if a human wishes to cross their territory, they demand payment of some kind.
