The Unicorn Tavern

It's in good repair with a recently thatched roof and fresh paint, covered in window boxes full of brightly coloured flowers. The Northern Badlands

The Northern Badlands
Swansmeade is the Northern most point of civilisation, past the outlaying farmland is a single road that leads into the Northern Badlands.
What are the Northern Badlands?
Two hundred years ago, the Qualinothi Elves went to war with the Golden Kingdom. The war was brutal and eventually the humans won by simple attrition. It is well known that himan lives are short, whereas Elves live very long lives. However where a human family generally has two to five children, an elven couple will only have a single child, if that.
For every human soldier to fall there was another to take his place, whereas every elf that fell was a tragedy. Knowing they were losing the fight, the Elves closed their city Qualindroth and separated to the winds.
The Elves had always kept the northern moors free of monsters, but with them gone, Goblins and other more savage creatures invaded. Not to mention the other older dungeons, caves and forgotten cities that were still to be discovered...
As a result Swansmeade has become a base camp for adventurers, explorer's, mages and sages to use as a base camp as they explore what is now known as the Northern Badlands...
(Basically this means you can do what you want with the Northern Badlands, mount adventures, invent cities etc. If you want anything added to the notes, then let us know in the forums. Your character could even have come from there...)
