The Farhaven Hotel cannot be found by those who seek it. It finds you only when you need it most. Or perhaps when it needs you. A cozy, low stress modern fantasy setting.

Setting
As you walk along minding your own business, a sound catches your ear and you glance up. The street that had laid out before you has shifted. Changed. Where there had been hollow street lights and indifferent storefronts there are now rustling trees lining the sidewalk. Trees that definitely hadn't been there before. Blinking and rubbing your eyes does nothing but make you suddenly aware that even the cracked concrete sidewalk has vanished from beneath your feet, leaving behind a well worn dirt path sprinkled with fallen leaves and a few creeping roots. Several more steps and the path turns, the branches of the evergreens part, and you find yourself stepping out into a brightly lit courtyard. The walls around it are white marble and crumbling slightly, but the castle at it's heart stands stark and strong, glittering white and silver in the morning sunlight while behind it snow covered mountains loom like indomitable guardians in every direction. Before you the wrought iron gates sit wide open in silent invitation and a large elmwood sign has been planted among the rose bushes growing near the entrance. In large, elaborately swirling gold lettering it reads:
Welcome to
Farhaven Hotel
Many centuries ago the fabled Castle Graciene was lost in a magical cataclysm that has since become the stuff of legend. Most historians believe it was destroyed down to the atomic level by ill documented political machinations obviously gone awry. Some stories, however, claim that it was saved at the last moment by the sacrifice of its princess and sent tumbling at the unpredictable whims of time and space. Whatever the truth may be, over the last decade or so new stories have begun to circulate. Stories about a hotel that appears only when the guest has a true need of its services. You cannot call ahead. You cannot make reservations. It is a place of rest and respite for the weary where anyone, human or magical creature alike, are granted a bastion of peace and solace in a modern world over run by technology and anxiety. There's no need to pack a bag. No need to plan. All your needs will be met at the Farhaven Hotel. If only you can find it.
Welcome
