    Acknowledge the Lore
Stay broadly consistent with Warhammer 40k lore. Homebrew factions, characters, and events are allowed, but they must not extensively deviate from the settings tone. Particularly when writing formal RP's, OOC and Casual Banter may not adhere. Crossovers/Interuniversality/Character Porting is discouraged. Leniency is case by case pending discussion. Examples of lore defiance would be something like porting gundams or super saiyans to 40k or creating your own primarch.

    No Godmodding
You may not undermine, kill or dictate another player’s character particularly in relation to outcomes and combat. An exception exists with regards to inactivity in RP's please see planned changes for 2026.

    Power Levels Must Be Reasonable
Characters must act within their faction’s known capabilities. Even Astartes, Custodes, or psykers are not invulnerable and should face credible threats. While power moves aren't discouraged due to the nature of the universe, you are responsible for portraying sufficient strategic sense and tact to execute your moves, on table-top this is balanced by dice and mechanics, in writing it is left to your discretion e.g. one-shotting a titan in a single post would be considered unreasonable.

    Consent for Major Outcomes
Permanent injuries, deaths, captures, or major character changes involving another player require mutual prior agreement or group approval.

    Tone and Theme Compliance
Grimdark is the default. Humor and lifestyle is permitted, but it should not undermine the setting’s overall brutality, stakes, or seriousness.

    Clear Post Formatting
Distinguish narration, internal thoughts, and vox or spoken communication clearly. Readability matters.

    Faction Authority Limits
High-ranking characters must act in accordance with their role. Large-scale actions (Exterminatus, crusades, sector-wide orders) require moderator oversight.

    Respect Other Players and Narrators
OOC respect is mandatory. Disagreements are resolved calmly or escalated to moderators never handled in-character retaliation. Any malicious and purposeful ad-hominem will result in immediate expulsion without compromise.

    Moderators Have Final Say
RPR moderators must be respected and actions and words should stay consistent with RPR rules. We intend to enrich roleplay on this site.
