Union Block is a 264ft × 264ft (80m × 80m) city block inspired by Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Chicago. It is a small, tightly packed neighborhood surrounding Union Park, a wrought iron–fenced patch of trees and grass, dotted with old benches and a playground that sees more use than maintenance.
The block contains a mix of small businesses, apartment buildings, and offices. It’s an old, quiet neighborhood where people keep an eye on their neighbors’ kids and look out for one another when times are hard. Union Block isn’t a tourist destination. It’s slow, a little dirty, a little poor, but safer than other neighborhoods like it.
