Knox Goods is a cramped shop on the northwest corner of Union Block. It is a squat two-story building with red brick facade and tall windows covered by wrought iron bars.

Outside, a large chalkboard sign lists the shop's newly acquired items--usually including cheap jewelry and someone's father's rusty toolbox. The top floor holds a small one-bedroom apartment that smells of cigar smoke and shoe polish, filled with classic rock and country memorabilia and a liquor cabinet the size of a fridge.

The bottom floor is the shop, jam-packed with meticulously organized shelves and displays containing everything from vintage cuckoo clocks to brand new shoes. A bell rings dully when the door swings open, announcing the arrival of customers with a distinctive thunk.
At the back of the store sits an ancient register atop a glass display case full of jewelry both fake and real, and behind the counter sits David Knox, owner and operator of Knox Goods--a man of immense size and heart. He can usually be found hunched beneath a bright lamp pulled close over his shoulder, using the tiniest of tools in large hands to coax broken watches and bracelet chains back into working order.
