Xiban is a world where ancient magic and modern convenience blend seamlessly. Some cities rise in elegant layers of stone, crystal, and enchanted metal...not quite medieval, not quite modern. Carefully crafted artifacts fill the streets with lights, lifts, and holographic communication devices.
Other cities lie in ruin, ramanpt with starvation, thieves, and death. Seeming perpetually stuck in the echoes of strife with little hope. These places are often called the Shatterlands.
Teleport gates are located throughout Xiban, but can only be used if you are fully registered. If not, then you'll be traveling by foot, or magic driven carraiges. The ones within the Shatterlands have either been broken by war or deactivated.
Technology exists, but it is subtle and always intertwined with magic. Enchanted scrolls are the fastest way to convey a message or important document, as you need only think of the person to send it to the intended recipient.
Most modern structures still carry the craftsmanship of old: carved stone, crystal inlays, and spirit‑forged materials.
Outside the cities, the world is vast and varied: volcanic Emberkin lands, floating Aerith sanctuaries, deep merfolk waters, and forests where spirits drift like living mist. Despite the scars of war, Xiban remains a place of mystic wonder....on the cusp of hopeful renewal.
