The Nexus Academy

A forum so we can post and discuss ideas related to the Nexus Academy out of character!

Idea as to how we approach the "why we're all here" (esp for oldies): we just don't elaborate. We come from somewhere else, had to make new bunker new academy new everything. Nexodus happened, we're here now.

(Where is here, whether very similar alternate universe or just a different location, we can also refuse to elaborate on that until we all agree :p)

I like this idea! I think it’s be funny if the characters acknowledge this is a new place but, as ineff said, no one elaborates on why just yet but people are aware this is new.

We could have it still in Kansas but maybe a new state would be interesting?

The idea from my head/head canon was that there was a big “event” at the old place that caused it to become either inoperable or something like the place was overran by something, or somethings if you will, thus the characters had to find a new refuge, giving them reason to not elaborate why they are all there as the rumours going round are that not everyone from the original place survived (though this could be either true or false as this event happened overnight, let’s say).

The new Nexus looks similar to the old place and may even be the same place but in a different universe or dimension, as ineff said, but maybe this universe has more monsters and supernatural beings, which gives us a chance to investigate more folklore and the such for topics and monster encounters.

I like the idea of new state, particularly because I tried to look up forests in Kansas and was met with "we mostly have grasslands and 2 reservations pick your poison" and I liked the idea of putting the Nexus in the middle of a forest. For botany reasons but also for cover reasons, hunting reasons, using nature protection laws reasons. I did look up stuff in Kansas specifically for my lessons but I can just change them. There's a big national park in Nevada-California (Humboldt–Toiyabe), which while it does have hiking trails and such, could be a cool cover for the new Nexus Academy. It's just a suggestion ofc

I like the Nevada-California idea! The Nexus is fairly large, right? If so: it’s perfectly reasonable that, in canon, that a big bunker is hiding under a national park covered in forest.

My take on it being in Kansas was because it's the "center" of America, so that makes it a central meeting point and was also something to do with leylines and how energy shifts.

Are we only segmenting to a new location due to now having a demon line? because us demon folks can always have our own hub place... like a lunch room in hell? where we stand around a water cooler in ill-fitting suits and discuss soul quotas and those irksome hunters.

Barring that hows about Arkansas, place is particularly verdant if that what you've got your heart set on.
Or even somewhere along the fabled Appalachian Trail? (believe it runs from Georgia to Maine) Where it's canon that people can just up and vanish from. It already has built in protections in that people avoid the area so aren't as likly to stumble upon "the new bunker".

I think it was more because Supernatural all started out in Lawrence, Kansas, the famous door to hell was around there too I think... I don't see anywhere as a central meeting point since getting anywhere in the US seems to be like, "ah yes, 5 days of driving" :v
More because we're in a new place OOG, where not everyone from the og page is I think? new place new rules, feels fitting to relocate, we can just pretend we're still in Kansas I guess, twas a suggestion
