Meet Stan. Stan is just a regular guy in his apartment. At least right now. Stan is a blank canvas but together, we can build him out and control his destiny. Stan can be anyone we want him to be from any genre. Let's see where Stan's life goes! Anyone can play. You're welcome to be a one-time poster if you'd like or contribute regularly. The only rules are Stan is the main character and you can't post twice in a row.
Opening:
Stan is in his apartment lying on the couch. The television is on a random talk show that he's not currently watching. Suddenly Stan gets a text message from a number he doesn't recognize. "Come to the park. Look for a man at a lemonade stand and ask him about 'the vortex'. You won't regret it."
Does Stan:
1. Try texting the mysterious person back for more information?
2. Decide to go to the local park to seek out the man at the lemonade stand?
3. Ignore the text and do something else (your decision)

Not recognising the number, Stan ignores the text and gets back to laying back on the couch. Realising he was dozing off, he now...

Stan doesn't think much about it. He decides to change the channel to something that will serve as some background noise. He finds a public access channel where they are showing an infomercial, and lies back down. Sometime later, he wakes up again, and the man in the commercial says something that catches Stan's attention. This is your last chance! Call now! Order the Vortex! Operators are standing by! the number appears on the screen with the words "VORTEX! ORDER NOW!" Then the screen fades to black.
Wait... Vortex... why does that sound familiar? Does Stan:
-Call the phone number while it is still freshly engraved on his mind?
-Pull out his cellphone and re-read that earlier text message?
-Turn off the TV, ignore his phone and go for a walk because this is getting a bit weird and he needs some fresh air?

Stan turns off the TV and goes for a walk. He just walks, not really thinking about where he's going, until he realizes he is standing outside the park. Remembering a mention of the park from the text message, he pulls out his phone and rereads the message. Then he looks around, and a couple of things catch his eye. The first thing is a woman walking her dog, a pug sporting a pink ribbon tied in a bow around its neck. The woman is dressed in sneakers, black shorts, sunglasses so dark that Stan can't see her eyes through the lenses, and...a white t-shirt with the word "VORTEX" written on it in black letters. He also notices that not far past the entrance to the park is a young girl with red hair attending a lemonade stand, but he doesn't see a man near it.
Does Stan:

- Look for another lemonade stand?
- Ignore it all and continue his walk?

Stan approaches the woman with the shirt. "Excuse me," Stan says. "Can you tell me about the Vortex?" The woman with the pug looks at him expressionlessly.
"Vortex," She repeats puzzled.
"Your shirt," Stan says pointing at the white t-shirt with black lettering she is wearing.
"Oh, the man at the lemonade stand gave it to me," She replies.
Stan looks around, but the only lemonade stand he can see is attended by a young red-haired girl.
Suddenly, a payphone near Stan begins to ring. He glances at it. Then he fishes his phone out of his pocket, re-reads the text, and then turns to show it to the woman, but she is gone! It is as if she's vanished into thin air! Meanwhile, the payphone continues to ring.
Does Stan:

5) Leave the park and get as far away from it as he can?

Stan ponders his thoughts for a moment, but the indecision while the phone keeps ringing is made up when he steps over to answer the pay-phone that was ringing. He says,

Stan lies on the ground for a moment pondering what happened. This is getting too weird. A bird lands near him, cocks its head and caws what sounds like "vortex". It then flies up into a tree but looks back at Stan. Could the bird want Stan to follow it? Just then, a yellow taxi with no one driving it pulls up, and the door opens. It sits there as Stan gets to his feet.
