Last (Official) Day of FOBETEO 2022

An illustration of a red-haired girl in a big blue winter coat and green hat with white pompom on top gives an enthusiastic high-five to a man in a red coat with a green scarf. They are both wearing green mittens. In their other hands, they hold lit candles. Some of you might know that I've been quite sick this week. I've been to the doctor multiple times over the course of this year's FOBETEO, and generally having trouble being a person as I wait for the antibiotics to do their job and for healing to take place. It was a very easy time to feel down about everything.

But every time I woke up from achy, feverish dreams, I woke to see dozens and dozens of kind words being sent on the RPR. Reading all of these kudos kept a smile on my face. It amazes me every year the way you all have taken the spirit of this invented holiday and run with it.

Some of you have asked if you can have through the weekend to wrap up giving out your FOBETEO kudos, and to that, I say, "of course!" :) Because you asked, the candle accolades will remain available until Monday.

Every five kudos you write between now and December 12th (Monday) will earn you a special winter candle accolade to display proudly on your profile, available only during FOBETEO.

Remember, to be eligible, a kudos needs to contain a clear "why" explaining what makes your friend so special! Don't just say "He's awesome!", tell the world what makes your friend so awesome. Click here for the complete kudos guidelines.

Thank you so much for the extension! I left mine to the last minute as usual. Oops. But it felt good to get some compliments and hearty lovey-dovey talk in to my friends, partners, and helpers from events and stuff.
