About Me
So, hello all! Most people call me Aly, and I'm a fairly novice RPer all things considered. I've never really played a game of DnD (although I'm desperate to do so), and have done most if not all of my RPing in video games. I first started RPing in November of 2010, with the release of FFXIV. It was there that I created my first character, Alothia, and she's been a living, breathing entity ever since then.
I made the jump to a couple of different games. I RPed in GW2 for a bit as a busty Norn woman, Wildstar as a precocious Aurin, and I had the setup for another character in ESO, but that kinda fell through.
I have been working on a character for DnD 5th edition, but haven't gotten together with a group yet, so she's very much still a WIP. Maybe someday I'll actually get it together and play a game.
Right. So other stuff about me. I'm married, have two adorable dogs, one fat cat, and the best 5 month old son in the universe. He constantly amazes me with a sense of wonder. I also teach high school Creative Writing and Literature and Film. It's a tough job, but it's also tons of fun. So if you ever just want to talk about anything, I'm happy to chit chat and make new friends!
My RP
As an RPer, I tend to be fairly reactionary. I've never gotten to the point where I have ideas for my own stories. I don't know if I'd make a good GM, but I think I make a pretty good supporting player. My characters tend to be the sort who will talk to anyone, but they always have their own motivations for whatever it is that they're doing. I try to give them some amount of variety, although at their cores, they're a lot like me. They all enjoy bawdy humor and bonding over uncomfortable situations.
I am mnot really looking for RP romance at this time, at least not on Alothia. It might be open on other characters, but I do not ERP, so be aware of that going in. And I won't see that as being an end goal as well. I like things to develop organically in that respect.
I don't mind adapting any of my characters to alternate settings, so if you're interested in one of them, but don't like their current specs, let me know and I'll see about changing it up to fit your story.
Please, please, please be able to separate IC and OOC. And be willing to communicate OOCly with me about things. I've been in an RP relationship with someone who was very controlling and didn't communicate...they were your typical gaslighter and whatnot. I won't stand for that again, and I'd like to be as comfortable as possible. If you are one of those people who 100% can't break immersion for the sake of my comfort, then we probably wouldn't make good RP partners.
I'm open to most mature situations, I don't mind violence and language and sexuality, I just don't want to focus on those things. I'm an adult. I can handle those topics just fine. That stuff happens in the real world, it happens in RP. Just know that there will be times where I might want to FTB. You have to be okay with that.

I've seen Aly hanging out in the chat quite often! She's super nice and always up for a lovely and fun talk with whoever's present.
To top it all off, her character profiles are very well organized, detailed and beautiful decorated with artwork, which tells me she's probably very dedicated to them and their stories. I think she's a good choice as a friend and RP partner!
