Why play all your characters anon, and be all weird and mysterious?
Because of The Crazy.
If you have been on Furcadia, and more importantly if you have been a member for over a year, you know- perhaps very well- about The Crazy.
The Crazy is what happens when a perfectly good, succinct RP turns into something winding and dramatic. Maybe it starts with some innocent OOC chatter, and eventually leads to you being the one and only magical person that this other person can confide in all their troubles. You become a Poison Jar- something they just dump into, and don't take much interest in the reverse. This, if you are not of The Crazy yourself, can get very old, very fast. There are many other forms of The Crazy, but it would take too long and too much effort to list them all. If you've seen The Crazy, you know what I'm talking about.
So, by playing all characters anon, one can create what would be termed 'plausible deniability'. Thanks to Google-Fu, it's not really that hard to connect characters. But one small prevention step never hurt anyone.
