I'm Dilly, an RPer in my thirties who's been RPing on various websites and IM platforms since 2008.
My favourite type of characters to play are characters with a strong inner sense of who they are, and what they believe in, but with a quirk or a secret that makes them outsiders. I've got a weakness for playing warrior women, eccentric men, and aliens or magical creatures.
Back in the day I was a full on anime character playing weeb. Nowadays my manga are covered in dust and I mostly play OCs, but I enjoy playing against both other OCs and fandom characters. Got a barely-reskinned anime character as an AU? Don't be embarrassed, I have a list of my own.
Playstyle-wise I'm flexible with regards to tenses, lengths and whether it's full on prose or if it's [action] brackets. My only caveat is that I don't believe that more is always better: I adore worldbuilding and descriptions but I don't want to be obliged to write ten paragraphs when only one is needed to carry a dynamic conversation between our characters forward.
One last note, OOC-wise. I am here to have fun indulging in escapism! The world is stressful so let's have fun bashing our characters together and making up tales rather than discussing our woes. RP is all about fun and exploration.
