I have quite a bit of roleplaying experience, but it's spread out over months at a time so I really don't get to practice all that often. I roleplay in Furcadia, World of Warcraft, San Andreas Multiplayer and through instant-messengers - the latter being my all-time favorite.
I'm not the biggest fan of para roleplays. I will often shy away from groups that are para-only simply because posts do not always need to be that long. My posts in Furcadia tend to be 3-4 lines but can sometimes be slightly over a paragraph. Point is, shorter posts mean more interaction - especially with dialogue where people will insert three sentences in a post, making it awkward for the recipient to respond to more than one of them.
My text-only roleplays in instant messengers tend to read like scripts, with only the descriptions that are necessary. They focus on action and dialogue. If this interests you, please let me know!
I prefer roleplaying in continuities with strict ground rules. This prevents ass-hats from walking in with ridiculous demon powers and powergaming everyone, and stuff like "vampire rules" conflicting. I have my own continuity that greatly resembles our own reality that I usually RP in that can bend to most characters, but I am willing to try other universes and make characters specifically for them.
