LastOfMyKind

Hello, my stalkers! Or friends!
(I don't know why you're reading this.)
I suppose I should thank you for it, though.

...Thanks...

I will be really slow replying right now! I'm doing classes and helping with fundraisers for my great aunt, who needs a kidney transplant ASAP. Sorry.

Mysterious collapsed text
Oh! Hello! I wasn't sure if that ultra-cryptic "Mysterious collapsed text" was going to work or not. That is called “clickbaiting,” my friend/stalker, and you have fallen prey to it.

Now that you're here, I'd like to take a moment to show off a short story that I recently uploaded. If you're curious as to my writing style and whatnot, this is a great resource to look at. I'd also really appreciate it if you messaged me on this site or on the one linked in the picture below to give me suggestions. Constructive criticism, you know.

Final.jpg

In the thawed tundra of Bāranok, Durven and Maffe hope for news of the brewing storm of black magic. The Mountains of Dusk to the north harbor the entrance to Jovandur, tunnels of the Witch-folk, who are planning something sinister. However, when Maffe disappears in the night, it is up to Durven to determine what the demons of Jovandur want with his friend. Can he endure the beginning of the end and return to his king unscathed?

Thanks for your consideration!

First of all, I'd like to tell you to, when referring to me OOC, please call me "Last," not "LOMK," as the latter sounds, when said aloud as if it's supposed to be an actual word, like something you'd say when taking a particularly big bite of food! And that's what I think of whenever I see it!

I also want to make sure that you all know that I work in shifts. Not night shifts, nor day shifts, but shifts in general. Meaning, of course, that my motivation levels are wacky most of the time, and these determine how quickly I'll respond to RPs or messages.
Current Motivation Level (from 1-10): 2

(And yes, I do have characters. I just play them anonymously, though only for their own sakes. I've never used a character to do something that shouldn't be done by a person of my age level.)

Anyways, now that that's out, here are a few things that you might want to know about my roleplaying style, and I'll try to be quick, as I'm sure that you don't want to read a thousand-page book...

and I sure don't want to write one.

The Not-Thousand-Page-Book

I don't like short, one-liner posts, nor an overabundance of sentences that aren't technically sentences. Like this. Without subject. Or predicate. A few, just to increase drama, is fine. Also in OOC chat. But I'm going to write in full, intricate sentences most of the time IC, and I'm usually not interested in those of you who write only half a paragraph. No offense to anyone, of course.

I'm not a fan of sexual roleplays, which is probably good considering my age, though I can live with some moderately-romantic ones.
(However, seeing as how I'm younger than 18, I'd prefer it if no one who's too much older than me suggested anything like that. AKA, you've gotta be a minor as well.)
No nudity, please. I am too young to be exposed to the real world. Don't hurt me.

Characters who love to make random decisions and who talk like three-year-olds are to be avoided by me unless the person playing them is an intellectual genius, and then I'd just run away out of shame.

(While questioning your reasons for not releasing your true potential.)

Needless to say, I'm fond of humor. Mainly dark humor, but I despise puns and most jokes. I prefer to laugh at peoples' mistakes (my own included, of course). Meaning to say, I like humor in RP, but not a lot. I'd prefer it to be realistic. Stay true to what your character would say, no matter the brilliant rebuttal you just came up with.

I feel like I'm repeating what other people tell you about roleplaying, but please don't take offense at what my characters might say to you. Please understand, even if my character is an idiot with no consideration whatsoever for other people, I'm not.
At least I've never been told so.

A List of Some Genres and Comments

#1 Fantasy
fantasy.pngFantasy is, by far, my favorite-est genre, both to roleplay and to read. Thus, I've read a lot of fantasy books, though I can't say I've read a whole lot of the major ones. See, fantasy is oftentimes made for teenagers, and a while ago I go tired of teenager heartthrob books. So I've read Tolkien's books, yes, and the Inheritance cycle (which, ironically, was made by a teenager), and several other ones that I can't seem to think of at the moment.

#2 Sci-fi
scifi.pngI haven't read a whole lot of sci-fi, but as I mentioned before, I'm getting tired of teenager heartthrob books, so I've started in a little on Issac Asimov and Arthur C. Clark. I like what I've read so far; I'm a huge fan of exploration and the unknown. However, I can't say I'm super into Star Wars and things like that; there's too much action and not enough reverence of the cosmos.

#3 Horror
horror.pngNot gore. I feel like people get them mixed up a lot of the time. Think less "gore" and more "psychological thriller." I'm enthralled with the human mind and, like just about every teenager on the planet, with fear. Don't ask me why. Mine's always an irrational fear... like, very irrational. Either way, I get a kick out of it, so I'm just about always up for a "psychological thriller," especially if it's fantasy related.

#4 Anything Else
Feel free to message me about anything else, though I can't say that I'm too fond of realistic settings. If I wanted drama in the real world, I'd just head down to the high school. (Sometimes I go to stalk people from on top of a particularly tall staircase that looks over the schoolgrounds, but don't tell anyone.) I can do mystery, maybe historical, and maybe realistic.

Anyways, now that that's done...

I'm surprised that you've read this far. I guess, in all actuality, you probably haven't, and have skipped to another large group of words. Call me a pessimist, but you probably didn't read everything if you're reading this. If that's the case,go back and read it!

Unless you've skipped here to learn more about me as a person, and not just my rping preferences. In which case, I thank you kindly. Because you've come to the right place.

Monster-Small.png

Some of my interests include reading literature that was written by people who are long-deceased, the very basics of physics, writing, astronomy, and simply creating. Some of my more interesting interests include people-watching, philosophizing about the human nature and Existence, staring at the walls and trying to find pictures in the plaster, and staying up until one in the morning (the Hour of Monsters, as I call it) whilst scaring myself to death by listening to the quiet ambience of the sleeping world. And, you know, fancying that it's not so quiet as it seems.

Now we come to my reality. Like all other teens that I know, I believe that I'm different than the rest. However, I also judge my perspective to be relatively unbiased. (I have had a very good childhood, though that fact stretches my patience to its limits.) Perhaps there are people in existence, even if they are mostly dispersed throughout the wide reaches of the world, who are like me.

But really, what fun would it be if there were?

Rave Reviews

LastOfMyKind is amazing to role-play with! She has great skill, and always uses amazing descriptions of the fake (or real) world around her! I love role-playing with her. (Especially her character Redleaf). Two thumbs up! - pinkfluffytomato
LastOfMyKind has stood out on the intro board with extra helpful answers to new players. It's clear she even reads a person's entire user profile and characters before responding, allowing her to sometimes answer questions before they're even asked. I want to call out that there's a great deal of attention to detail being put to use for kindness in this individual! - Kim
