Characters that are currently available for RP are listed to the right. Those that are either in use (and not available for other RPs) or without a setting to be used in will be listed as "Anonymous" either until I find some use for them or must discard them to make room for others.

1) I'm a Psychology nerd with an interest in exploring characters' inner depths and struggles. Developing their personalities and motivations while going on an adventure is more interesting to me than the adventure alone.

2) My RL gender/sex shouldn't matter. Keep IC and OOC separate. To be clear, however, I am over 18.

3) Don't have a set post limit, but I personally tend to write 2+ paragraphs. At minimum, 1 paragraph.

4) Not against romance, but prefer more than that to a plot. Anything that doesn't advance the plot or contribute to internal character development I'll mostly avoid. That practically always includes small talk, slice-of-life and sex scenes.

5) This shouldn't be an issue, but I like my RPs cooperative, not competitive. We work together to make a plot and follow along with each others' ideas within reason.

6) In contrast, this may be a big issue: I'm uncomfortable with settings that include a lot of superhuman (or anime) physics. Yep, there went a good majority of you...

7) No soap operas. Petty problems of characters aren't enough to hold my interest unless I already know them well.

8 ) Love sci-fi and anything with a theme (be it sci-fi or not). Isaac Asimov and Robert Ludlum are my favorite authors.

9) Continuities should be consistent with themselves. Nothing ruins immersion more than repeated inconsistencies, plot holes, and predestined coincidences. Let the plot develop organically.

10) Each of my RPs are self-contained, so no two players have to have the same experience! My characters' lives - and the worlds they're in - can be affected by other player characters in our RP, but none of it will force me to abandon certain RPs because their "pasts" are changed.

11) No Deus ex Machina, Cheesing, or Plot Armor. My suspension of disbelief ends where these things (and rule #12) begin. Some call me pedantic, but part of the fun in writing, for me, is figuring out how to work within these limits.

12) Equally, I'm not a big fan of Plot Holes or Hand Waving. Because these are frequently used for the sake of drama and Rule of Cool, I tend to avoid joining a lot of RPs until I know for certain they're not used. This goes hand-in-hand with rule #9.

13) I didn't think this would be necessary to add here, but please know the basic etiquette of consent-based roleplay. Don't use powerplay, don't metagame, don't retcon, and don't godmod.
(in this case, retcon refers to ignoring or rewriting pre-established facts in a roleplay or scenario; if we discuss it ahead of time, and the information hasn't been used yet, I'm okay with some retcons)

(Just a note: I don't analyze every detail of every setting I come across. Comedies, for instance, can get away with just about everything for me, because I'd be laughing anyway. Moff's Law is my motto. I get more enjoyment out of thinking about a setting and a story than just passively consuming it.)

Other than that, I'm fairly loose with rules, and I prefer an equal partnership of a sort with the other player(s) - hence why I tend to stick with 1x1 RPs. I'm really quite forgiving of most things, including grammatical errors and scheduling difficulties. The point is to find common ground so we can both enjoy an RP! As long as you're reasonable, kind and level-headed, you'll get the same treatment from me, I promise. ^-^
