Hello, I'm Rivalkyrie. I'm an avid roleplayer who has just entered the third decade of my life after spending about half of it on roleplaying and writing in general. Fanfinction, original stories, odd little drabbles... you name it.
Me as a roleplayer
- I am a literate roleplayer and tend to be very harsh on my own grammar mistakes - but only my own. I don't mind reading responses with spelling or punctuation errors if the roleplay keeps me engaged.
- I average between 100-250 words in my responses, spread across 2-3 paragraphs. I can go much longer depending on what I get to work with. Quality over quantity any day!
- I tend to both actively match and unconsciously mirror my writing partner. Whatever creativity, engagement and effort my writing partner brings.
- I only write queer couples and male or masculine non-binary characters. Mostly MxM and MxNB, though I occasionally dip my toes into FxF or NBxNB. The only time I'm remotely interested in MxF is with transgender characters and it heavily depends on who the characters are.
- I write both original characters and canon characters from various fandoms (mostly from fantasy RPGs/JRPGs and anime). I also do original settings that my writing partner and I build ourselves.
- I like to challenge myself by writing new scenarios and characters all the time. I tend to bring new characters for every roleplay (unless they are canon characters) so they are always tailored to what I am writing.
- I personally enjoy writing multiple characters (a side effect of having been a DM for D&D games for several years I would assume), whether it's writing side characters or even multiple love interests or key characters.
- I prefer to be able to chat OOC while we roleplay, so we can plan out where we want to take things and talk about what each of us wants for the characters as well as building an interesting world.
- I mainly roleplay on Discord or through PMs on this site. I've also used Google Docs and email. I am also open to other platforms - these are just what I am familiar with.
