i'm fairly new to rpr (join date was april something 2020!) but i've been roleplaying for a good part of fifteen years now and even before rp i was writing stories with my friends as a pimpley little middle-school dork. i use roleplay mainly as a way of learning about new things (i.e. a new historical period, a new culture, a new state of mind, etc) and writing helps me understand stuff better. so i guess you could say i try to be as literate as i can be when i world-build and plot and develop characters and i do a lot of research (i enjoy it!) so that i'm portraying characters/situations as realistically as i can.
in the past, i've been a storyteller on other rp sites, so i really love building a whole universe for my characters as well as my rp partner's characters; i want my plots to read and feel like a book or a movie, something both writers and readers can enjoy and immerse themselves in. here's some generic stuff about me:

word count ❧ my range for post length is fairly large; i can generally make posts between 400-1200 (2-6 paragraphs) but it all depends on the plot, the character, the other rper. in my opinion, not all scenes need that much detail but there are some scenes that might even require even more words. for the post part, i try to match the length and style of the replies i'm given. availability ❧ currently i can make about 1-2 posts every week! some days are busier and i may not be able to post. if it's been a while though (over two weeks), please give me a gentle nudge. i have squirrel brain™ and sometimes i think i've replied when i haven't. writing style ❧ because i use roleplay as a tool to improve my writing, i try and write my replies in a novel-like structure. communication ❧ whether or not we talk beyond plotting, i think communication between roleplayers is really really important and i do my best to express any issue or idea openly. platform ❧ for the time-being, i'd prefer to keep roleplays to private messages on rpr, unless we plot extensive long-term rps together. note ❧ i'm 100% open to lgbtqa+ characters (and rpers)! â ð–ð”¯ð•ð”£ð”°
word count ❧ at least a paragraph or two! i'm not hard set on this because it really depends on the rp but a lot of the time it's my rp partner's reply that inspires my own post and if i have something that's less than two paragraphs to work off of, i don't feel as motivated to write unfortunately. i don't know why that it is but it is what it is. writing style ❧ the least i ask for as far as writing style goes is that the other person use proper grammar and punctuation; it just makes reading replies a lot smoother! genres ❧ i will pretty much write anything and i'm willing to try most genres but my favourites tend to be fantasy, sci-fi, supernatural, historical fiction, dystopian, thriller/crime. i'm partial to romance and slice of life so long as it's a sub-genre within a more prominent genre and happens naturally. on that subject, i am open to writing nsfw scenes (violence/gore, erotica) so long as it isn't gratuitous and happens naturally within the plot. longevity ❧ i put a lot of effort into my characters and plots so i'd prefer long-term rp partners and those who put the same amount of effort into their plots and characters as well. communication ❧ sometimes it can be daunting to approach someone about an issue/concern but i value forthrightness and would prefer the people i rp with kept honest open communication with me. if you have an issue, please tell me. if you no longer want to rp, please tell me! even if you have an idea, please tell me!! i want to know all the things! |
