• Biography

  Matilda Beaux was named for her great-great-grandmother, though she doesn't know it. Her mother died when she was young and never had a chance to tell Tilly the stories of her namesake, the great Matilda Beauxtonne. Their family name had changed because of that woman, to protect the future generations. Her ancestor had been a seer, sometimes called a prophet, able to delve into past and future at will and see events that rocked the world. That history has been forgotten by the living, and the current Tilly has no idea that anything supernatural might exist in her world.

  Tilly was raised by her father and aunt, neither of whom wanted a child or were particularly skilled at raising one. Thankfully they were in a small town with a welcoming community, and she had a fantastic childhood surrounded by friends that went through all of school together. At the end of it, she wanted a change and moved to New York City, enrolling in college and getting a tiny apartment on her own.
