• History

  Romlyn Varethi was the oldest of two children born to a minor Dunmer house in Morrowind. His birth afforded him modest riches as well as assuring that he received adequate education and training in magical arts which he has always shown an affinity for. It was his own ambitions to become a skilled mage and perhaps found a school of his own for the instruction of young mages. Such ambitions were largely gotten rid of by adulthood, however, when his mother offered him up to a slaving operation in Bal Foyen.
  
  Though he found some joy in the work he did around Bal Foyen things were not meant to be when the Ebonheart Pact brought a strict end to their slaving practices and he was forced out of a job. The lack of income forced him back to his family's hold in Mournhold for the time being though it was never meant to be a permanent return. He knew travel would be necessary to further his own knowledge and had become interested again in magical arts due to the war.
  
  During the mid-2nd era, he decided to leave his home province of Morrowind with the hopes of finding better resources in the heart of the Empire. He was disowned by his family and stripped of any claim to their ancestral lands due to his own family's distaste for the Imperial Legion and their allies. Cheydinhal's Mages Guild soon found him to be a resident where he was enrolled within the guild's ranks and promptly begun to travel between guild halls to learn knowledge in each of the schools of magic.
  
  It was early into the 3rd era before he made the decision that he was content where he was within the guild. He had been given control of the Kvatch guild chapter where he was to instruct students in the arcane arts. A decision was made to devote the guild to the arts of conjuration and studies of the Daedric planes. Such knowledge would prove instrumental in Romlyn's survival but in the end did little to impact the outcome of Kvatch.
  
  Currently he travels now that his home has been destroyed and he is not allowed to return to his place of birth without facing harsh penalties for his transgressions centuries ago.
