Ｐｏｋ é ｍｏｎVaniville TownBorn in Vaniville Town in of Kalos, although young, Calem Xavier had goals of becoming a Pokemon master and the Kalos champion. It was a natural dream of any child his age to achieve the glory and honer that came with the title. At six and attending Vaniville Pokemon elementary, Calem was already studying hard and thinking deeply about his future Pokemon partners. The journey of becoming Kalos champion was not easy and if he was going to make it, the young child knew he'd have to train his brain lest he treat his Pokemon poorly.
His parents were there when a newly hatched Espurr was sitting in Calem's lap. It was so small, like a little doll, and soft and warm and perfect. While he was out in a walk, he'd came a across a mysterious egg frosted with a light layer of snow. The boy had taken it to the Pokemon Center where it was cared for until it hatched. Calem was disappointed that he missed Espurr's birth, but Nurse Joy had given him pictures to make up for the loss. But most importantly, Calem was happy that he'd gotten to Espurr in time, and Espurr seemed to know this and accepted Calem as its master. That was how Espurr became Calem's first Pokemon, and the start of Calem's Pokemon journey.
When Calem arrived to school with Espurr, he was one of the few students with a Pokemon partner - most parents didn't their children Pokemon until 10 years of age. Feeling proud about having Espurr by his side, Calem was more than happy to show off Espurr's powers, and even read books on Espurrs and Meowstics so the boy could have a better idea about how to train his feline partner, and what to watch out for as well. By the turn of the next year, Calem was eight years old when he entered the Kalos Junior Tournament, a competition held across primary and secondary schools for students - to which Calem entered in eagerly.
To the surprise of his opponents and the spectators at the KJT, Calem had won the tournament with Espurr. Whether it was his skill or his opponents underestimating him for his age, Calem was ecstatic about taking home a brand new Wii U station. After winning the tournament, Calem had thought everything would got back to normal after the excitement of the win was over. In celebration of his win, Calem's family had taken he and his friends out to eat, and the dinner had gone well until the group found themselves bombarded by paparazzi waiting for them outside. With many microphones in his face, several cameras flashing, and thosands of questions being thrown about his future, the young boy was so overwhelmed he wet himself - and ultimately humiliated himself in front of his family, friends, and a bunch of strangers.
Traumatized by that night, Calem's dreams of becoming Kalos' next champion became sour and bitter as he threw them away. Although the paparazzi swore not to tell of that night - especially as his parents threatened to sue for harassment. Although the unknown interview with Kalos Junior Tournament winner Calem was swept away and buried to never see the light of day, the boy remained haunted by it as he shortly developt claustrophobia and agoraphobia. Afraid of being crowded and being embarrassed in public, Calem stopped leaving his house, and eventually his room much to the dismay of his family and friends as he feel into a deep depression.Turning PointEstranging himself for years after that event, much changed when a new neighbor moved into town. Explained by his mother, renowned Rhyhorn racer Grace and her daughter Serena were moving into Vaniville Town - though to Calem, he didn't care as it didn't involve him. Having received a letter from Professor Sycamore regarding Calem, Calem's mother urged that Calem show Serena around Vaniville Town before taking her off too Lumiose, as the Lumiosien professor was waiting upon them both. Annoyed and reluctant, the once shut-in Calem did as he asked - and just like that, Serena had thrown Calem into an adventure he didn't ask for.
Just after the day Calem toured Serena around Vaniville, he was forced to meet his old friends - Trevor, Shauna, and Tierno. Although it's been years since the KJT incident, Calem long stopped talking to his friends, and after a while, they stopped visiting. Meeting them again was tense, though Calem refused to speak with them as much as he had to. He hated being reminded of the last and the awful vulnerability he felt from it. It was awfully difficult want Tierno presented him with some Pokeballs filled with some Pokemon. Tierno's mother was a dancer in Lumiose and had met with Professor Sycamore, who bestowed her with a handful of starter Pokemon for Tierno and his friends. In the end, Calem had picked out a blue-eyed Fennekin - a curious deviation that stuck out to Calem as odd.
Still, if that wasn't enough to stir up Calem's usual routine, he blamed Serena as the turning point of when his life was thrown into chaos. Just a few days after picking out Fennekin, Kalos' lengendaries Xerneas and Yveltal were mysteriously reawakened and engaged each other into a massive fight across Kalos. In the aftermath of their fighting, Vaniville Town was torn to ruins and Calemn found himself leaving to Lumoise earlier than planned - with Serena, Trevor, Shauna, and Tierno just behind him.
Upon arriving to Lumiose City, Calem felt overwhelmed by the large city and it's endless sea of lights. It was nothing like Vaniville Town were everyone knew everyone and everything that was going on in the small town. Lumiose was engulfing, enchanting, and Calem felt so small and insignificant to such a grand city. Even though he was accompanied by Serena, Shauna, Trevor, and Tierno, Calem felt absolutely alone.
When the group met Professor Sycamore down at the Lumiose Pokemon Lab, a strange feeling awoke inside Calem. From all that he knew about the Professor, the Professor was odd as the rumors said, but also just as kind and warm. But that still felt strange, and as he saw Sycamore being cheery with everyone else, a lump would grow in Calem throat and he found himself hating the Professor. Just like Serena, it was Sycamore that forced Calem to leave the safety of his home and be thrown out to the world... Though deep down, Calem was afraid to entertain another idea, one that he didn't understand himself just yet as he felt a pool of jealousy seep into his gut as he saw Serena hug Sycamore gleefully.LumioseYoung and over the peak of puberty, Calem didn't understand the irrational feeling he got - especially around Serena. He was certain he disliked her, but when he saw her hugging Professor Sycamore, he never felt more annoyed by the sight. And that was just the beginning of it. Whenever he saw Professor Sycamore praise Serena in her accomplishments, from the compliments, the pats on her head, to how affectionate the too were... Calem felt nothing but contempt for the man. Although Calem dropped his dreams of becoming Kalos Champion, hearing Sycamore rave about Serena drew him mad - and Calem found himself competing with Serena.
Initially he believed he liked her at first. Seemingly it explained the fits of jealousy he felt whenever she was so friendly with Professor Sycamore. Still, he wasn't sure how that motivated him to reenter the Pokemon battle field. He was rusty and it showed. Although he studied it years long ago, he now had to build up a Pokemon team, with Espurr as his lead. But why did he become Serena's rival? He liked her, right? A part of him figured that Serena was interested in an accomplished man. After all Sycamore was very accomplished, and so if Calem won all his gym badges, fought the Elite Four, became the next Kalos champion - surely Serena would smile for him, right? And maybe that's why he got upset whenever her accomplishments rose above his. Even when his mega-ring, he can't seem to match up with Serena.
And then it dawned on Calem one day. He didn't become a Pokemon trainer to impress Serena. He wasn't angry that he couldn't catch her attention. He wanted his attention - Professor Sycamore's. The feelings on jealousy and anger that grew in him whenever he saw them together - it was only with Sycamore. He never got upset if Serena was being cozy with Trevor or Tierno, but he did when she was with Sycamore. Whenever anyone brought up Sycamore, those feelings returned and Calem realized he felt envious that he couldn't be more open about his feelings. And then he got scared because he really couldn't be open to them - he had a crush on Professor Sycamore. He had a crush on a man. Was that even possible?
Enter Calem, a lone, washed-out Pokemon trainer. With absolutely no social skills and unsure goals for the future, Calem is lost about where to go in his life. Having no true desire to become the Kalos champion and facing the world of popularity as a social outcast, Calem is lost. Years ago, life used to be so simple when there was a strong light in his life, but where did it go? His parents were so hopeful that he'd find himself again in the world, and now he's a afraid he's learned too much about himself in the dark.

Naturally, I'll play with any of the canons of any generation from Pokemon.
Note: I have just started playing SW/SH, but am not finished with it!
Additionally, although Calem is a Pokemon character, I am open to playing with original or crossover characters and am flexible to adapt Calem to non-Pokemon settings via discussions! For romance, Calem is gay so males are preferred in terms of romance or so, however females are still very welcomed for non-romantic, story-driven RPs. When it comes to story-driven roleplay, I love a good adventure and exploring character depths and paths, regardless of the gender of my partner's character(s).
I'm fine with folks that play multiple characters, and I myself may play as multiple characters - typically for NPCs, background or secondary characters as needed for a plot or scene.
I like humans, furs, and gijinkas, Calem is a switch with a recluse personality, but when alone (or with Pokemon/animals), he'd likely to open up and be more warm. I am experienced with smut roleplay, but for the ratio between story-to-sex, I prefer long-term scenarios to be 60/40, but short-term quickies can be 10/90. Non-romantic roleplays are absolutely fine and fun by me! Plots set around unrequited romance, budding friendship, or found family are enjoyable by my standards. Just because I am comfortable with smut and all that does not mean I only RP smut. I absolutely do not need it in my roleplays!
Duly note when I'm OOC, I'm very casual a person. I don't need a Victorian letter in my PMs - I won't judge people over small typos or using text talk OOC. It's OOC and I strongly dislike the notion that how one behaves OOC reflects how they are IC. My being OOC isn't anything like my being IC, so don't judge a book by its cover, yes?
