  • Hair: Brown face-length hair that is fairly spiked; it is arranged in a very basic manner. He doesn't like it when his hair gets in his eyes, so he occasionally cuts it shorter. That's why it's spiky.

• Biography

  The world Somniaos is a world of dreams, created and maintained by the people who lived there. Long, long ago, an ancient hero founded the central city Lunae, after a terrible battle with a demon born from nightmares. Reality, as it had once been known, had been destroyed by the terrible war. But the hero had sacrificed his life, in order to create Somniaos, and everyone within the world allowed their corporeal bodies to fade away, becoming nothing more then essences.
  
  With that, the Sacred Flame was created, and a little bit of the flame was nestled inside of everyone, creating and keeping this wispy world stable and thriving. The spirit flame that was in everyone's heart varied, but anyone was able to use it, and manipulate it for a variety of any purposes that they so desired. Within this world, there was no war, or anger, just peace and a life that anyone could live comfortably. The city thrived, and the world grew, until it too could become a true world of it's own.
  
  The hero's reincarnation was born then, and with his guidance, the world of Somniaos was turned from nothing more then dreams, into a true, actual world. Finally, they were awoken from a long dream and reality welcomed them with open arms. To remember the brave hero by, the people of the world built a beautiful, large temple in his honor, and the Sacred Flame was born within that temple, when the hero finally died and moved on to the next life. The Sacred Flame, the source of all of the spirit flame, was carefully tended to and cared for.
  
  It was the job of the priests and priestesses who made their homes in the Sacred Flame Temple to continue to tend and honor the Sacred Flame, and the memory of the heroes who had brought them the life that they lived now. Only those with the closest connection to the heroes of old, and the ones with the brightest burning spirit flames, were allowed to tend to the Sacred Flame. It was a wonderful honor that everyone someday dreamed of being granted.
  
  Chance was born Tyson Blayze to a family of rice field farmers. They lived on the outskirts of Lunae, the city of dreams, and lived comfortable lives. It wasn't exactly the most exciting of lives, but occasional trips into the big city kept things from getting dull. Things just went on the same way that they'd always gone on before then. Nothing special really, or unique. At least until one day when strange monsters showed up in the rice fields where Chance's father and himself were hard at work.
  
  Shocked, Chance and his father were taken off guard, and one of the monsters was able to land a near fatal blow on Chance's father. At that moment, Chance's dormant abilities awoke, and he summoned a great flame dragon to destroy the monsters. Unfortunately, it also lit the fields on fire, and the two of them were barely able to survive the event. After that, Chance's father needed a long time to recover, whilst his mother tried to figure out why her son's spirit flame had suddenly appeared in such excess amounts. It was going to take a long time for the fields to recover...
  
  In the meantime, unable to support the father, and Chance while all of this was going on, the mother sent Chance away to the big city to live with his relatives. Maybe not the best solution, but his mother insisted on it for whatever, odd reason. At the very least, he got along with his relatives fairly well. Though the younger brother to his cousin was a terrible, greedy brat and enjoyed trying to make Chance's life as miserable as he possibly could.
  
  During this time, he met up with a boy who was living a few doors down. Nova, a kid around his age, just a little bit older. The two of them got along quite well, and even got revenge on the young brat. It was great! At least until the monsters showed up in the city too, attacking Chance and Nova. However, before anything bad, this time, could happen, a priestess with a flaming bow showed up and defeated the monsters with no effort at all. In amazement, the two wondered what she was... only to find that she was the Head Priestess of the Sacred Fire's temple. And that she'd come here to take in the two of them as apprentice trainers!
  
  Suddenly, everything changed for the two of them at a shocking rate. Their families were informed, and right at the very first meeting they were taken to the temple to begin their training. It was amazing, to think of how quickly everything moved. Though of course, as they were soon told, it was because of their excess amounts of untrained spirit flame... it would continue to guide monsters to them like a beacon, endangering the entire city. That was why the head priestess herself had come out in order to bring them to the temple, to safety. Now their training could begin in earnest.
  
  For the next year, the two of them were trained in the temple, learning to control and manipulate their spirit flame. Both of them had a rougher time then most, because of how hard the priests drove them to learn and perfect their techniques. Still, in the downtimes, it was great fun, and the two of them got up to a lot of mischief together.
  
  However, one day it all changed. It had been raining, a perfect day for fun and exploration in a nearby cave. The two of them were doing just that when something happened outside. The clouds parted, and a god seemed to descend down on the city, immediately enthralling all who saw him. He called himself the Soul of the Spirit Flame, and that he had come here to the city, drawn by the power of the people's devotion. Immediately, he was loved and adored, worshipped by all as he captured their hearts with his charm and divinity. Though oddly, the spirit flame in the temple seemed weaker... He said it was merely because of his presence.
  
  Meanwhile with Chance and Nova, the exploration of the cave was going well. At the very center, there was a strange pedestel, with a glowing necklace and bracelet laying atop it. Despite not knowing what they were, or if they were dangerous or not, the two of them decided to take the treasures for themselves, and took one each. Chance took the necklace, and Nova took the bracelet. After that, the two of them left the cave in order to go and tell the other apprentices about the awesome adventure they'd both had.
  
  But when they got back to the temple, everything had changed! Everyone was acting strangely, talking about the 'Spirit of the Great Sacred Flame' and even worse, the head priestess was nowhere to be found! Instead, there was some strange man named Sparkle apparently running the place! Sparkle was... an extremely odd person, to say the least. A young, flamboyant man who apparently had no shame when it came to flirting. Everyone seemed to love him too though.
  
  Stranger and stranger... What the heck was going on around here? When they tried to question anyone about it, they didn't say a thing, or acted like this was the way that things had always been. Then, the biggest shock of all. Upon going to the sacred flame's room to see if the priestess might be there, they discovered that the great flame had turned into an ominous black and purple color. Not to mention that, but it seemed to be emanating off some sort of evil aura. Shortly after that, monsters showed up in the town, but no one did a single thing about it, and the monsters were allowed to roam about and do as they pleased.
  
  So if everything was going so weirdly all of a sudden, why wasn't anyone else able to see it? That night, the two of them snuck out of their dorm rooms... which were now being guarded by some sort of weird monster mage. Heading back to the cave, Chance and Nova tried to figure out what it was that they were supposed to do now. Obviously, the first course of action should be to find out who was the cause of all of this craziness... then after that, they could figure out what to do about it.
  
  The next morning, they discovered how crazy everything had really become. Normally, this was when the apprentices began their daily spirit flame training, but instead, that Sparkle guy was teaching them how to fight! With weapons! Teaching all sorts of nasty and sneaky tricks... and forcing them to perform the extremely odd "Fabulous Sparkle Dance!" And anyone who didn't perform the dance, or messed up the routine, was dragged away somewhere by one of the monsters.
  
  Obvioulsy they couldn't just let this continue, and at lunch that day they snuck away in order to explore a bit. Avoiding by seen or caught by the guards, the two of them made their way to the head priestess' room.. where a terrible discovery was made. She'd been turned to stone! And Sparkle had completely redesigned the place to suit his own needs and likes. Hearing Sparkle coming up, the two of them panicked, then hid under the bed... next to a box of questionable items.
  
  While under the bed, the two of them discovered who was really behind all of this... Sitting down on the bed, Sparkle flipped on a holographic display... and revealed the terrible lord of nightmares. Devos, the ancient demon who had at the very start of history appeared to wreak havoc, who's terrible power had destroyed the world with his war. All these many centuries later, he had reappeared. It had taken this long for him to revive himself, and his anger was terrible. By taking the disguise of the Spirit of the Sacred Flame, he'd entranced the people and turned the head priestess to nothing more then a pretty stone statue.
  
  Devos gave Sparkle a command to continue doing as he was thus far, then disappeared. Snorting and muttering something rude, Sparkle then went to grab the box of question content... and instead accidentally grabbed onto Nova's nose. Immediately, Nova let out a yelp and chomped down on Sparkle's hand in an automatic retaliation. Enraged and confused, Sparkle flipped the bed over, revealing the two of them. Angry, but still trying to stay calm, Sparkle attempted to charm the boys over to explaining why they were there, and what they'd all seen.
  
  Upon finding that they'd realized the truth about everything, Sparkle decided to take them out then and there. Quickly, the situation ended up in a fight, which Chance and Nova won, successfully defeating Sparkle. However, fearful of Devos' wrath, Sparkle revealed his true form; that of a Cambion. A cambion is an offspring of an incubi/succubi/human pairing, and are devilishly cunning and angelically beautiful. Because of their demonic parents, Cambions often have evil or selfish desires, and are able able to charm even the most strong minded individuals to do their bidding. Usually at least.
  
  With those very charms, Sparkle attempted to convince the two boys to give in to the spell that was cast over the city, to just go along quietly like everyone else and forgot all that they'd seen here, and their suspicions. It almost worked, at least until Nova's spirit flame snapped him out of it. Grabbing the dazed Chance, he fled the room and back to the safety of the cave, the only place that now seemed to be safe. Snapping Chance out of his trance state, the two of them began to plan what to do next.
  
  Obviously, going head on against Devos was a bad plan... and fighting off Sparkle would be hard enough. By now, it was likely that the whole town would be against them, and ready to kill or capture. The situation definitely wasn't looking too positive, but there had to be something that they could do about it, right? Putting their heads together, they tried to figure out what to do. How to defeat Devos, Sparkle, return the head priestess to her original form, and save the world basically. Should be a piece of cake right?
  
  Sneaking around the town, the two tried to figure out if there was any way that they could just snap the townspeople out of it. Every little luck was had... at least until they encountered a pair of twin female mages, Gray and Blue. All this time they'd been struggling to snap themselves free of the ensorcelment, but had little luck because of the powerful spell Devos had cast. But with the help of Chance and Nova, they were successful in freeing them. Thankful, the two of them agreed to help defeat Sparkle and Devos... and of course, they wanted revenge on them too! Now with the four of them, their chances of success was looking a little bit higher.
  
  Sneaking back into the temple, they decided to steal the statue of the Head Priestess. With her restored to her original self, they would be able to restore the sacred flame from it's cursed state, and weaken Devos. Everything went well on the mission, due to hiding as a couple of the monster mages they found and defeated. Taking the statue back to the cave, Gray and Blue used their magic to restore the head priestess to her original form.
  
  Eve was grateful for their help, and so with the five of them facing off against Devos, it seemed like they would have a good chance of success. Eve was one the most powerful priestess of their time, Gray and Blue highly accomplished mages, trained by the very best, and Chance and Nova were... well, determined and able apprentices. Though Eve tried to convince the two boys to stay out of this, they refused. Determined to see this to the end, no matter how it ended.
  
  At that point, Eve advanced their training, trying to get them as strong as possible. They would need to be strong in order to defeat Devos after all. Taking them far beyond the simple apprentice training, Eve began giving them Master-level lessons... which, were needless to say, extremely difficult. Though Nova seemed to catch on to it fairly quickly, Chance had more difficulty. Attempts to use the abilities caused his spirit flame to go out of control, and exhausted him both mentally and physically. Even with Nova trying to help him, Chance was still messing up and getting it wrong.
  
  Deciding that Chance just wasn't ready for the training, Eve set him back down to apprentice training, focusing on control and manipulation once more. At least, since there was no time limit for the moment, and they still didn't know what Devos was planning, they had time to practice, train, to get ready. Though of course since they didn't know when Devos would act, there was still a need to rush a little bit.
  
  Two weeks later, they considered themselves reasonably ready to try and confront Devos. Especially after hearing news that the demon was going to make his move, a fact overhead when Gray and Blue snuck in to eavesdrop on Sparkle. Though they didn't know what this move was yet exactly... obviously it was nothing good, and so they had to find a way to stop him. Readying themselves for this, they snuck back into the temple, and followed Sparkle, who was in full battle gear, to the room where the Sacred Flame was contained. Within it, strengthening the curse over the flame, was Devos himself.
  
  Showing themselves, the five of them challenged him. Chance and Nova fought against Sparkle, while Gray and Blue kept Devos at bay with powerful magic spells. In the meantime, Eve was purifying the spirit flame, weakening Devos. As it turned out, Devos had been planning to cast the spell over the entire continent... and from there, spread his influence over an even wider range. From there, the world would be transformed into a realm of nightmares in which Devos would have complete control over.
  
  Defeating Sparkle, and the sacred flame successfully purified, the five of them faced against Devos himself. Through teamwork, they seemed to even defeat him... at least, when their backs was turned, he reared up and possessed Chance's body. Once more, the four of them were forced to fight against the possessed Chance. But upon his second defeat, he revealed several shocking things, upon Eve exorcising him. One, that Chance was the reincarnation of the legendary hero would had defeated him in the start of history. And second, that Nova was the reincarnation of the second hero who had returned the world to reality.
  
  Chance was understandably confused and shocked, not having had a memory of his possession, and confused by the truth that was suddenly shoved in his face. Nova on the other hand said that it didn't matter. Reincarnation or not... he was going to do what was right because he was himself and that was just the sort of guy he was! Once more, they collected themselves in order to defeat Devos once and for all... Only for the demon of nightmares to vanish! He'd fled the area, and it didn't take much guessing to see what it was that he was going to do next... Devos obviously planned to raise any army once more, and plunge the world into the chaos that had destroyed it the first time around.
  
  Somehow, they needed to find and stop him. But first of all, they needed to restore the temple back to it's original status. With Sparkle -who'd chosen to wisely disappear- gone, and the Spirit Flame restored, canceling out the spell was as easy as a snap of the fingers for Eve. With the help of the priests and apprentices, they managed to get everything back to normal. As soon as the town was back to normal, it was time to go out and find where Devos had gone. Eve was going to stay behind in order to make sure that everything went smoothly at home, and to capture Sparkle if he so dared to try to return.
  
  So, Gray, Blue, Chance and Nova headed out, with Nova leading the group. He'd taken the sword, and shield of the ancient hero who'd created the spirit flame and who was still honoured to this very day. Hey... being a reincarnation had it's perks! At any rate, here the four of them headed out to a town where pretty much every information broker ever came to exchange information and the like. If they were going to find out where Devos had disappeared to, and how to defeat him, then their best chances lay there.
  
  Upon reaching the city though, they encountered a young man in a bit of a bind. Devos' monsters had spread even this far... and a large group of them were ganging up on the man. Gray and Blue reacted quickly though, and managed to defeat him. They discovered that the man was a healer, and that his name was Glacire. He wasn't exactly the friendliest of guys, being kinda abrasive, tough and cocky, but he was grateful that the twins had saved him.
  
  As it turned out, he'd come here in a way to recover his spirit flame... Some strange guy had attacked him and drained it! Leaving him with so little that he was only able to use novice ice spells and a little bit of healing. Realizing it must have been Devos, Gray and Blue went off to have a stroll around town with Glacire and talk about it, while Chance and Nova went to find a hotel, and any other information they could collect.
  
  Relaxing on the beds together, the two friends discussed their thoughts on the recent events. So much had happened in so little time, that now that they had a few moments to just relax, it was shocking to see how far they'd come. Now, they had a purpose. To defeat Devos and restore the peace. Needless to say that the people weren't taking the appearance of the monsters at all too well... they needed to do something. So, while Gray and Blue were busy with Glacire, the two of them went out to train a little.
  
  While training, they actually ended up finding something useful. A wandering swordsman, after helping them to defeat a few beasties, told them that there was an ancient text detailing how the first hero had defeated Devos. Supposedly, it was kept in the Ice Cavern Temple, down near the bottom of the continent... but only an ice user would be able to get into it, and safely navigate a party through the many traps to the book. Well. Hadn't they just met an ice user by the name of Glacire? That must have been the reason Devos drained his spirit flame... so he couldn't help them get to the book!
  
  Fortunately though, they did have him... and meeting up with Gray and Blue, they discovered that they'd successfully managed to convince Glacire to join up with them. After all, they did need a healer, having left Eve behind. Explaining the situation to him, he agreed to help, but that there was no way he was gonna let himself get bossed around by a kid, leader or not. So, with this loose rocket in tow, the five headed out to find the Ice Cavern Temple.
  
  As it turned out, the temple was named well... the cavern in which it was set was nothing more then sheer ice. Making it cold. Still, with their spirit flames, it wasn't cold enough to kill them, just make them uncomfortable. With Chance melting the way so that they could safely walk, the five went in further, and discovered a large gate. Glacire was able to open it easily enough, but then a problem was encountered. Someone had to stay behind to keep it open, since otherwise it would lock them inside. Chance volunteered, since they'd need the others in order to safely advance.
  
  So, left behind, Chance pretty much spent the entire time flicking pebbles and watching them skid across the ice. Wondering if Nova and the others were going to be okay or not. Unfortunately, looking up he saw that Devos was heading straight for him! Jumping up, Chance tried to stop him, but unfortunately he was overwhelmed and knocked unconcious. When he awoke, he was buried in the rubble of the destroyed ice cavern temple, and the others were sprawled out around himself, Nova nowhere to be seen.
  
  Obviously, his first and foremost concern was finding out what had happened to Nova. Waking the others, he found out what had happened. Successfully, they had gotten to the book... but then Devos had appeared and captured Nova! Shocked, the four wondered what to do. Without Nova to lead them... what were they supposed to do? At that point, Glacire took over the leadership spot and decided that the best thing to do was find and confront Devos. Since they still had the book at least.
  
  Knowing that things were now racing towards the final confrontation, the four prepared themselves for the last battle as quickly as possible, then headed out. However, before they could even enter the leave the town in which they'd supplied up in, they had a surprise encounter! Sparkle! But instead of attacking them... he actually asked to join them, and fight against Devos. Apparently, he'd been wronged in some way, and wanted revenge. Not to mention that Sparkle always joined with the winning team...
  
  At any rate, at least now they had six who would oppose Devos, as soon as they were able to retrieve their leader. And Sparkle would have valuable information on Devos' whereabouts, and how to find him. As it turned out, he'd chosen to find himself in an alternate pocket of space... and in order to access it, they'd need to defeat one of his high end generals and take the key from her. Shouldn't be too tough a job, right? Especially if she was anything like Sparkle.
  
  Heading to the Vale of Souls where she was said to live, a shocking fact was revealed by the twins. The general that they had come here to defeat was in fact their mother. After she'd been corrupted by Devos, they had run away from home and never looked back... but neither could they stand to fight her. In the end, only Chance, Glacire, and Sparkle headed out to fight the general, even though they would likely need the twin's help to survive. But at the same time, they could not afford to lose. There was simply no choice.
  
  After fighting their way through the castle to where she was waiting, they confronted her, but the use of a trap magic gave her the advantage. All hope seemed lost, at least until Nova and a mysterious woman appeared to save them! With barely a weird, the two of them saved the others and rescued the day! Estatic to see Nova fine and happy again, they asked who she was. Apparently, her name was Diva, and she'd rescued him from Devos, her brother who'd betrayed her a long time ago, and who she had been seeking revenge upon ever since.
  
  Her story seemed legit, and so the seven of them once again headed out to defeat Devos. Though Nova was acting a little bit odd. He kept avoiding the others, acting suspicious, and spent alot of time with Diva. Still, they didn't think anything of it. This was Nova after all, their great leader! With the book that would defeat Devos in their grasp, their leader back in place, and more firepower then ever, then it would be no problem at all to defeat Devos! They even started planning the awesome celebration party for afterwards.
  
  Successfully, they were able to access the place where Devos had hidden himself. The place was filled to the brim with monsters, but the group battled through them, despite any exhaustion that they might feel. Working together and helping each other. It was all going perfectly well... at least until they reached the room where Devos was supposed to be. Because he wasn't there! No sign of him, had he ever even been here? As it would turn out? He hadn't been there. Because...
  
  He'd been with them all this time. At that point, an attack hit Chance, the twins, Sparkle and Glacire from behind, knocking the twins and Sparkle out, and trapping Chance and Glacire in a cage of energy. Nova and Diva... had betrayed them... Needless to say that discovering this fact was extremely upsetting. And confusing. Why would Nova, who'd lead them through all this, who'd been so against Devos' ideals, suddenly team up with him and turn on the others?
  
  As it was revealed, it was because Nova hadn't been given a choice in the matter. With an ominous chuckle, Diva revealed her true form; she was actually Devos! This whole time she'd spent getting close and learning all that he could, and... then the worst was revealed. While they'd been sleeping, he'd successfully gotten his hands on the book and destroyed it. Now, all hope was lost it seemed. With Nova helping, Devos defeated the group and left them for dead, ditching them in a graveyard mountain.
  
  Fortunately, though, Glacire came through for the group here. Healing all of them, he revealed that even if Devos had destroyed the book it didn't matter; he'd memorized the contents of the entire thing. Supposedly in a temple to the east of here there was a device that would let them defeat Devos once and for all, and save Nova from his control. Chance in particular wanted to save Nova... having had a crush on him since the day they'd met, that had slowly grown into true love over the course of events. Though he knew that Nova didn't feel the same way. But still...
  
  Here though, on this place, they were to discover something truly shocking. Because this graveyard mountain... was not truly a part of reality, but a same part of the place that Devos' lair was. And within this place, they learned the truth about Devos, after stumbling across a few spirits in a derelict temple. The nightmare demon that had destroyed the world the first time... was not Devos. Devos was in fact a young succubus who had fallen in love with the original Nova...
  
  Long ago, the two of them had been in love. But then the nightmare demon had possessed Devos, and torn her away from Nova after slaying him. All of this time, the nightmare demon had been controlling Devos in order to get it's revenge, and to turn the world into a realm of nightmares over which to rule... But there was a way to save Devos. However, here the spirits refused to tell them what it was. Saying that it was not for them, and that they would have to find another way.
  
  However, even as the others stayed behind and tried to think of what to do, Chance stayed behind and begged them to tell him. That he would do anything to save Nova. The spirits asked him if he truly meant what he said, and Chance replied with a heart felt yes. So, they told him, whispering into his ear, but asked that he tell no one else, lest they try to stop him. Agreeing to their terms, Chance walked back to the others, telling them he too had been unsuccessful.
  
  At any rate... eventually it was decided that they would simply have to kill Devos. No matter how the odds were against them, they had to do it. And if it really came down to it, then they'd have to kill Nova too. Though, afterwards, Chance was very quiet and thoughtful, trying to decide something. Distancing himself from the others. At any rate, Glacire led the group back to where Devos was, and the final battle truly began...
  
  Bad Ending
  
  As they confront the demon, Chance does something unexpected. Running in front of the group, Chance taunted the demon residing inside of Devos, infuriating it, before beginning to chant something in a strange language. Then ran up to Devos and grabbed onto her shoulders, ignoring the blade that Nova slashed his back with. His spirit flame promptly became out of control, and as he turned to the group, Chance let a smile out and explained what he had done.
  
  He'd forced the demon to possess him, using a spell that the spirits had taught him. Now, in his body, the group would be able to kill the nightmare demon. But they had to kill Chance too. However, there was no other way, and he asked that they make sure that the world stayed in peace. Now, with the control over Devos broken, Nova too was freed, in time to hear Chance's explaination. After that, the nightmare demon took over Chance and attacked the others. Now, with a chance at winning, the group fought and defeated the demon with the help of Devos.
  
  As Chance lay dying in Nova's arms, he looked up at him with a fond smile, blood trickling from his eyes and mouth. Gently, he told Nova how much he'd loved him... and that he was glad he'd finally been able to save him instead of the other way around. Closing his eyes, Chance died in the arms of his love, glad that he'd finally been able to tell him how he felt...
  
  Normal Ending
  
  Chance runs in front of the group and chants a strange spell. The demon is violently expelled from Devos, freeing her at last, but Chance falls to the ground, coughing up blood. As the group runs up concerned, he smiles weakly up at them and explains that the spirits had taught him a spell to free Devos... but it takes the life of the user. As Nova runs up to him, Chance looks at him thoughtfully before shaking his head, smiling and passing away.
  
  The group successfully defeats the nightmare demon and give Chance a hero's burial. The world is saved and once more is at peace. However, the attack of the heartless drag the group to the world of kingdomsunleashed. After one thousand years have passed, Chance is reincarnated once again. He lives peacefully, with no memory of the life he'd once lived.
  
  Good Ending
  
  Chance seperates the nightmare demon from Devos and dies in peace. Later, after the demon is defeated, Nova and the others bring Chance's body back to the temple to give him a hero's burial. However, Eve interferes, shaking her head. Taking his body from them, she gently chants, and revives Chance. Happily, the group celebrate both the world's salvation, and Chance's return.
