  • Mannerisms: Kage tends to crack his knuckles when he is annoyed or nervous. When reading, he occasionally will murmur what he reads, then state that no, he wasn’t doing that. When frustrated, his hands will clench into fists, and then back to hanging, and repeat.
  • Likes: Kage enjoys fall, the whole, colorful season. He enjoys making minor potions, traveling, learning new spells- even if he doesn’t know how to use them right.
  • Dislikes: Kages hates just sitting in taverns or inns, watching as everyone drinks and eats where as if he did it’d go strait though him. He doesn’t like summer for what ever reason. Hates mud, swamps/bogs, winter and spring.

• Personality

  Kage is one of those kind of people who would clap at the young rosy-cheeked lads who ran after carriages of royals, or criminals, throwing rotten apples and peaches at it. He would laugh if you fell down the stairs, or got mud on your new, white jacket. More often then not, he will not care for other people then himself, since, being dead, he lacks that squishy, fluffy emotion called ‘love’… Not like he ever understood that emotion anyway. Kage is commonly, is pretty mellowed out, commenting on things, making witty comments about other peoples misfortune or bad luck, making it hard to be friends with him unless you can tolerate it. He will not act this way, if he knows you well enough, or, he has said it all before to you.

• Powers/Talents/Strengths

  Kage knows some basic magic skills. He can throw fireballs that are damaging, but they wouldn’t just kill you, probably burn the attack-ee. Kage can summon 1 cup of water, as long as he is within a 300 yard radius of a decent sized water source (size of a large pond). Kage can also form tiny ice daggers, about 4 inches long, and only 2 at a time, these he can throw at the enemy he is focusing on. They cause little damage, but sometimes can shock an enemy, which is good enough. Kage has no idea how to use a sword, or bow, only understands their basic concepts, but he is unable to use them.

• Weaknesses

  Kage’s major weakness is the soft stone that keeps him alive where his heart is. It isn’t hard to break it, or destroy it, and If it breaks, he dies. The stone is soft like soap stone, but it is behind his skin(what remains of it) and ribs, but still, a good hit to the chest could break it. When it is cold out, his joints will freeze unless he is in warm clothes, so if you see a frozen skeleton, say ‘Hello Kage.’ He cannot lift overly heavy things, since he only pertains the same amount of muscle mass he had before he died, and that wasn’t a lot. He cannot cast magic well if he just woken up, or just about to fall asleep, since at those moments, his energy isn’t at a high enough point that he can cast spells.

• Description

  Kage wears a robe that falls over his body, the shoulders built up with fabric, and given some points to the shoulders, to look a bit more fancy. He only wears these robes, and a pair of baggy gray pants underneath. His robe is a deep purple, to represent Arcane magic, with blue details, and fine gold outlining. He has a blue sash he wears, with a belt over top that has several bags on it, with a number of herbs, and tiny potion veils. On his back, he normally carries a small bag with some potion-making tools, a book on magic spells, a herb book and a book with minor potion-concoctions written in it. He has, at all times, a minor energy potion he made on his belt, for a quick refresh when he is spell casting.

• Biography

  Kage lived 40 years before he died…Though that comes later. Kage was born and raised by an Malvric and Catherin the Inn owner couple who owned an Inn in the main city of his kingdom. Being a middle classed Inn, Kages’ parents Inn was more often busy, and in good money. Kage lived in the back of the Inn with another brother, Carlston.
  The town of them, once they where roughly 5, became young money-collectors, collecting money left as tips on the tables, before the other people staying at the Inn, nipped it for themselves. He enjoyed this- specially when he got called over by adventures, sat on their lap, and told stories to about far off lands.
  Carlston and Kage enjoyed there jobs, thanks to the stories, and what not, given to them by the travelers.
  Aside from his coin-nip job (as his mother called it), in his spare time, Kage and Carlston would go outside, and play around. Unlike Carlston, Kage would be the one to jump into the mud, and roll in it, chase girls with worms or garter snakes, make mud pies, and occasionally help Old Man Gregory at the potion shop while not causing mischief like running after carriages of nobles, throwing rotten fruits from Mrs.Flower’s fruit stop at them, then getting shunned and shoved off by the guards.
  Carlston didn’t like Old Man Gregory, and so, Kage had this side-job all to himself from when he was 8 and so on. He worked stocking shelves , occasionally running errands. Kage didn’t care too much for the errands and shelf stocking, but he did absolutely love staying at the end of the day, and watching Old Man Gregory making his potions. Sometimes he was revolted, sometimes he was so interested, he almost didn’t hear when Old Man Gregory asked him to get something from the shelves for the potion.
  Old Man Gregory would pay Kage in 2 coppers, then a minor potion of his choice, like a small energy potion, ones to heal up scrapes and cuts when he earns them playing outside, and a occasionally ones to help make the pain of getting his ears box, go away.
  He worked for Old Man Gregory until he was 15, when Old Man Gregory died peacefully one morning. He had passed away sometime in the night, apparently. Kage understood, Old Man Gregory wasn’t doing so well for those last few weeks of his life. Apparently, though, Old Man Gregory left a potion book and herb book for him..Kage accepted that without being asked twice.
  Many, many nights did Kage stay up, reading these books (since Old Man Gregory was kind enough to teach Kage how to read), occasionally, trying to make potions that coughed smoke up into his face…Though over a few years, he managed to make a few potions. At his 18th birthday, his parents began to pressure him to pick whether or not to take the Inn, or become something else like a become an Potions master, doctor or a blacksmith…And so on. Kage turned it all down. Though he liked making potions, he didn’t think, some how, he could survive plucking plant leaves, crushing them and making random mixes for his whole life, and being an Inn Master did not appeal to him… dealing with fights, the annoying travelers, the goody-two-shoe adventures…No, so, the Inn went down to Carlston, and Kage went back to looking for a decent trainer who could teach him something that appealed to him.
  This went on until he was almost 18, when an older mage came into the town, wanting to pass his knowledge onto a young pupil or two- free of cost.
  Kage was on that in a split second, the following day, up bright and early in the best clothing he had (which was just some brown pants without grass stains or holes in them) and a clean green shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his shoulders.
  Kage went off to the small rental house the Mage was staying at, and was instantly greeted by an older mage, who set to work teaching the young man.
  Kage didn’t have to pay or do anything like that, really, just had to enjoy what he was doing, said the Mage, and so, Kage promised…And with that, the Mage taught Kage for several years. Kage got a few of the spells right, many of them he couldn’t cast properly, due to not being in a family with the magic running though their veins.
  Never the less, Kage managed to impress his mentor for 5 years, while still helping out at the inn for a quick coin. He ‘graduated’ when he was 23 as a mage. His mentor said that he’d make a good mage if he just focused a bit more.
  Kage was now a proud mage, and ready to set off when he was 24, after he had earned enough money working for Carlston at the Inn, to order a robe, and get himself some decent items to take with him. Before he left, though, death would pay his family a visit-his father died while in the forest one evening, collecting wood for the inn when a tree he was cutting fell onto him, rather then away from him, crushing his ribs and puncturing his heart on impact, dead within minutes from bleeding. This struck Kage with sorrow, putting him off his travels for another year…
  At age 25, Kage was finally ready to head off on his journey he planed a year ago. He couldn’t wait to hit the road, see what was out there, to explore places he hadn’t yet seen. Really, he hadn’t seen much more then the town and a bit of the surrounding woods, since he was always working the inn.
  Finally, he headed off to see the world… Well he was slow at first, having no idea where he should go, since he was not knowledgeable of anywhere TO go.
  Kage started off by heading down the main road, which, after several weeks, took him to a large city, where he decided he would start his career as a head-hunting mage. He read the wanted signs, killed a few minor thieves and bandits, and gained enough money to purchase a tiny house in the slum like area of the town. Now he didn’t like the area, but the house was nice… 3 small rooms, one was a bed room and a tiny kitchen with a small amount of counterpace and cupboards.
  Kage happily called it home for 5 years, until he was 30, which is when he met a man who would, unknowingly, change his life for ever.
  Kage met him at an tavern one evening after getting a bit tipsy. The man simply asked for Kage to kill a man and be paid with some silly stone. Kage, being drunk off his arse, accepted, and so, the following day, following a note the man left, went off the kill this man.
  Kage followed this note into the forest, to some random mansion… He followed the note; enter, kill the man, come back to the tavern, and get paid.’ What ever. The man was sleeping, and so, killing him was easy enough.
  Kage felt this wasn’t going to go anywhere good…but what ever. He headed back to that tavern, the man waited, paid him, thanked him, and left. Kage, left dumbfounded, and back to his house.
  For 3 years after that, he attempted to sell that silly stone for money for grub, but couldn’t. Some how, he needed money. There were adventures coming in with the heads of these men Kage was planning on killing, and so, there was no one in his range, to kill. Kage quickly set to work to sell his house…he managed to rather fast to a very small family.
  Now with nothing holding him to that town besides that rather good looking bar tender at the Drunk Dwarf Bar, he left with copper filling his tiny coin pouch, and a heavy heart.
  Kage set off, going to some other town he heard of to the west that was having bandit problems. Maybe he could make some money there…
  Once at the town, Kage was shortly told yes, there was a bandit problem, and that some man had fixed it all up. Kage, furious at this point, asked where this man was staying, to go and have a word with him. He was informed it was some minor tavern in the town. He went to it only to meet that man who gave him that blasted stone. He still had it, oh god, yes, he still had it. He hoped to find some jeweler to sell it to, though so far, several just tossed it at his head and said get the hell out of my shop.
  Kage had one hell of a bone to pick with this guy. When Kage did finally start to go off on a rant on this man, he remained quiet, and at the end, just asked for the rock, and gave Kage a large sack of silver and copper. Kage shut up, and took the money, and went off on his way…
  The money would last him awhile, at the least, but Kage wasn’t about to buy a house in a town and have to pay tax men a ridiculous amount of money for some ran-down shack again. Kage kept on the move, different town ever few days or weeks. His money was staying steady from head-hunting the bandits, and doing odd jobs for people. Kage was fine with this, the walking kept him healthy, and the occasional bar fights at where he stayed, kept him interested.
  Kage kept up like this until he was 38, which is when he decided that settling down would be lovely. He wasn’t getting any younger… At a small town, a fishing town next to a large lake, is where he wanted to make his stay. He found a small house that was being sold for a good price, so after a few months of saving up, he managed to get it before anyone else, and moved in. It was much like his last one, just with a bit more room. Kage promised himself he’d still travel, so a year after purchasing, he packed up his basic needs, and went off.
  This would be the adventure he would die on… He had gone off to the mountains, since he was curious to see about meeting some dwarves. While on his way, he found a little wanted signed sign for some silly demon who has been messing around with a near by town. Kage set off to find this demon, and kill him. Sure the price on the demons head wasn’t high, but it was enough that Kage was interested. Kage had easily found this demon, who seemed to not bothered by a head hunter finding him. Infact, this man seemed rather pleased! Kage was confused, but didn’t press the demon, he just set off trying to kill the demon- which ended horribly wrong… The demon actually managed to avoid Kage’s attacks, and tired him out, which is when the demon killed him. One swift move, a dagger to the chest, right to the heart, carving it out. Kage died almost instantly from the wound.
  After that, Kage was sent to the graveyard in his home town, where he grew up, next to his fathers. 40 years passed before he woke up, laying on the ground in the forest, coughing for breath.
  When he woke up he saw that man from years ago… Something about a stone…Money…Something like that. All Kage remembered about this man was he gave him a stone, and money, or something… The man explaining what had happened, and now that Kage had a stone suspended inside his chest. The only think keeping him alive. Kage was furious with this man- bringing him back from a rather nice deep.
  Kage freaked out on the man, but calmed after about an hour or two of yelling.
  Kage was simple told to get on with his undead life and to be happy the man gave it back. Kage gave up on this stupid man, gaining a set of robes much like his previous ones that weren’t half gone, and all his previous belongings, some how. This man scared Kage…but , what ever. Kage took his items, and moved on from this place, onto better lands, he supposed. His whole family he grew up with where dead and so, he had no one to say hello to while being in the town.
  Kage moved on…And that was all he did, was move on. He had enough money to keep himself afloat for awhile, at least… Kage eventually got back into headhunting again, just going for minor people, for money for inn rooms and what ever else he’d need.
  Kage travels a lot, so never expect him to stick around for more then a day or two.
