  (She's still pretty much a work-in-progress, so some aspects of her personality and other things may be subject to change, depending on how I flesh her out in RP.)
  
  
  Wera (pronounced somewhat like Vera) prefers to step outside the gender binary and takes on a more androgynous appearance and lifestyle. Her behavior borders on masculine. Raised in a clan where females are in charge and are more powerful than males, she's unused to other societies where men are the more dominant gender.
  
  Her personality is generally calm, quiet and often keeps to herself. Although she works hard when she needs to, she can be lazy otherwise. She can be approachable, but not cuddly. Wera can be vicious and ruthless when she wants to be.
  
  She walks with a poor, somewhat hunched posture. Her voice is calm, often flat and somewhat husky (similar to Fiona Apple). Dress includes classy, casual or steampunk-themed androgynous clothing in more technologically advances settings. Otherwise she wears various degrees of cloth and leather.

• Backstory

  Wera can be played in modern or more fantasy-themed times. She's very flexible when it comes to setting. She can either be half-gnoll or just a semi-anthro hyena, depending on whichever would make more sense in the setting. The following Bio applies to a more fantasy type setting.
  
  Her mother was a powerful (both physically and in status) Gnoll, her father a human. She never knew her father, for he was a temporary captive used for the sole purpose of gratification for her mother. Her mother was power hungry, domineering, pushy and aggressively forced herself upon any humans she held captive... it was an encounter with only one man that resulted in a pregnancy, which resulted in Wera.
  
  She grew up in her mother's pack, but was often treated differently by other pack members because of her obvious human lineage. Her mother, despite being mentally imbalanced and violent, was the only Gnoll to truly look out for her. Wera was trained for strength and agility to survive along the other pack members, though because of her frailer stature she served more of a scouting position. She knew how to use various weaponry but was more useful in scoping out safe lands to settle in, as well as steal food and other necessities from towns and other travelers.
  
  Eventually her mother's mental instability increased to the point where she expected more and more from Wera, which she simply could not manage. She did not have the strength of a true Gnoll, despite the amount she trained. She was powerful compared to most humans but that was not enough. Her mother began to see her more and more as human and the stress weighed so much on Wera that she decided to leave the pack and travel on her own.
  
  She still seeks to redeem herself and become stronger, both physically and in her character. She is somewhat sheltered from other cultures and technologies but is steadily learning as she explores the world.
