Prisma wears a white top with loose sleeves and a square neckline, a long salmon pink skirt that crimps up slightly at the bottom and has embroidered flowers near the hem, and plain brown shoes that are somewhat hidden by her skirt. She carries around a large brown book in a similarly brown crossbody bag. Her skin is fair, and her hair is blond, short, and wavy. Her body is woman-like, but her face looks young, and she doesn't have a reproductive system. Her eyes are salmon pink.

Prisma's origins are shrouded in mystery. The pages in her book that contained her first few years of life are missing. She's devoted to finding out her origins, though unbeknownst to her, they're not pretty.

Prisma is from a species of magical beings created by infusing loads of magical energy and a very small fragment of the creator's soul into an object. In doing this, it creates a humanoid being made up of primarily magic and a bit of organic matter. Members of this species are almost always skilled in magic and get abilities based on the object they're tied to. However, if the object they're tied to is destroyed, they'll die, and likewise if it's damaged they can become physically or mentally impaired. Additionally, if their soul fragment is too small, they'll have no free will or personality. This species also cannot reproduce, and can only be created by humans incredibly skilled in magic.

In Prisma's case, all of her memories and knowledge are stored in the book she's tied to. She thus can't forget anything unless the page that said thing is written on is torn out of the book. She can also rip the contents of books into her own, though this leaves the original book in a garbled mess and has resulted in her being kicked out of and banned from a current total of 27 libraries across her home continent.

She's very weak when it comes to physical strength. She WILL lose against someone in a fistfight. She regenerates when hurt, and can't actually die unless her book is destroyed. She always keeps it on her person. She'll panic and totally lose her normal happy attitude if it's lost or confiscated. She DOES feel normal pain and can be knocked out, and while she doesn't need to eat, she feels hunger and does eat. In order to get money for food, she works as a librarian. She does need water, and becomes tired despite not needing sleep. In general, the only things she really needs to survive are water and access to magical energy. In the setting she's from, magic is kind of like electricity in that it's everywhere and is a harnessable energy source, so this isn't an issue.

Prisma is treated more of an object than a person by most magic users, due to her species' being relatively rare thanks to many of them being killed during a social taboo on magic in her home country about 100 years ago. Most magic users can recognize her species when they see her.
