• Biography

  Ryusei was born and raised in Cable Town, a world made from the remains of Daybreak Town after the climax of the Keyblade War. As the town had a front row seat to the events of the war that shattered the X-Blade and covered the world in Darkness, the Keyblade and its Wielders were a soar subject amongst even the current residence, the tales of that conflict being passed down throughout the ages. Regardless, Ryusei was intrigued by the idea of the Keyblade and traveling to other worlds, but of course his parents forbade such thinking, stifling he and his younger brother's interest at every turn.
  
  However, Ryusei refused to give up on his dream and so trained himself in swordsmanship in secret, deep within the forest. One day, when he was 14, he was approached by a mysterious man, a Keyblade Master from another world who upon seeing his potential, performed the Bequeathing on him, granting Ryusei the ability to wield the Keyblade as he had always desired. From then on, Ryusei became this man's apprentice, learning the ways of the Keyblade and its close ties with the powers of both light and darkness. He kept his training secret from his loved ones, all accept his younger brother Ritsuka, hoping that his stories would encourage him to follow his own ambitions as well.
  
  Eventually, Ryusei underwent the Mark of Mastery exam, his skill with the weapon was great and he flew through the exam with little difficulty. However, to his devastation, his Master failed him, claiming that Ryusei relied too heavily on the power of darkness, only tending to the light out of convenience and habit. His heart lacked true balance, and thus he could not call himself a true master of the Keyblade. Enraged, Ryusei attacked his Master, insisting that his affinity shouldn't matter if light and darkness are truly neutral, and that he will prove it by defeating him. The Master accepted this challenge and proceeded to overpower Ryusei, pleading for him to stand down and continue his training. Ryusei however was too far gone, he refused to believe that his comfort with the darkness was wrong and so to prove it, he willingly gave his heart to the darkness, unlocking his full potential.
  
  With this new power Ryusei defeated his Master but had lost control of himself, but just as he was about to deal the final blow, Ritsuka burst from the tree line and pleaded for him to stop. Seeing his brother so distraught at what he had become made Ryusei's heart waver enough for the darkness to overpower it. Ryusei lost his heart and that potent darkness became a Heartless, while his left over body and soul faded into the realm of twilight, gaining new life as a Nobody.
