Biologically engineered, living computers.
Mass produced and sold commercially (long ago).
He possesses complete cellular consensus. Able to communicate and direct all the cells in his body. Every cell possesses a tiny level of independence, and neural functionality.
He experiences pain, but displays no outward sign of it, as Ballods are able to control the body's response to such stimuli.
Designed to be tools of pure, neutral logic - Gabin suffers from a malfunction of emotions.
Physiologically, he is not any harder to wound than a typical human. And he doesn't possess otherworldly strength. He can do what a human of his size and build could do - if under the affects of adrenaline and unweakened by pain.

The last functioning ether-gems, the Catalog Gemstones possesses two abilities.
Abilities are enacted via a snapping of the fingers. If he can't snap, he can't perform these abilities.
[Baseline function] Record the memory of any person or inanimate object in full. Including the individual's memories, and full anatomical data. Down to the cellular level.
[Ability 1: Reset] Restore the subject to the recorded save point. Any memories that a living body may have formed between the save point and the reset point will be lost.
[Ability 2: Rewrite] A reconfiguring of cellular or atomic data. Biological editing, at great cost. Risk of error are life threatening. Cannot make impossible physiology happen. Cannot make a dead body become alive again. Can "manifest" matter out of thin air by adding or reoving protons, but tends to be limited to single substances at a time.

The first successful fusion between Singularity Tech and Ether Tech. Gabin's skeleton has been replaced with reinforced metallic polymer. This allows his body to support the steep biomass requirement, demanded in order to utilize the Catalog Gems. The skeleton is interwoven into his nervous system, allowing him to access networks and control robotic units wirelessly with only his thoughts.
The bones are tough, but not unbreakable. Designed for heavy load bearing, not combat.

He likes predictable, clean, familiar environments.
He is afraid of unfamiliar environments.
He obsessively collects memories as data, just like souvenirs and trinkets.
Due to the fact that he's afraid to go outside himself, he likes it when others bring him souvenirs from their trips.
Taking his memories or possessions from him is the greatest harm someone can inflict on him.

As a Ballod, emotions are considered a malfunction in Gabin.
He is unfamiliar with them, and they do not come naturally to him.
Emotions allow him to experience shame of his large, inefficient body. This is why his favored body type in a lover is small, thin, lithe. Everything that he is not.
Gabin has been told that he is a monster, and now believes it to be true.

The very thing that makes a Ballod special is also a point of much struggle for Gabin.
Often, his body expresses desires and urges that do not align with his rational mind. Triggered by powerful emotions.
It can sometimes be impossibly difficult for him to control his body.
As a surgeon, his intent is to heal others. But because of his brute body, it is often him who is inflicting the damage that needs to be healed.
