Akra appears a charming, beautiful woman in her late twenties or early thirties. The swishing tail and triangular ears reveal a mixed lineage. Each day brings outfits suitable for a warm Mediterranean climate: tasteful yet revealing, almost always made from fine silk, and almost intentionally drawing eyes away from elsewhere.

Words, body language, and behavior all project much greater stature in the community than first appearances might suggest. Though focused on her daily routine with few outward responsibilities, keen observers may notice frequent checks from person to person, as if ascribing motive or evaluating threats.



Those patient enough and who avoid notice will see Akra meet with a parade of individuals in one of several local businesses, depending on the day. These individuals generally sit with her for fifteen to twenty minutes apiece of sometimes-tense conversation. No goods change hands, but most guests seem to forgetfully leave behind envelopes of various shapes and sizes. When not meeting with anyone, note-taking in a black book which could be a ledger occupies her interest.

Impatient or prolonged observers, however, are in peril! Both investigators and the curious receive an immediate glare or visit from one of several men in dark cloaks. These men shift from position to position around her: never sitting with the feline but also never straying far. Impertinence is usually met with an escort to a nearby alley and urgent medical care.



From time to time, Akra leaves the comfort and warmth of these establishments. On the way to and from her home, she sometimes stops to do some shopping and say hello to her merchant friends. From time to time, usually around the end of every month, the feline mysteriously finds small envelopes tucked inside her purchases!

Akra diligently records these tokens of appreciation in her ledger. As a returned gesture of goodwill, she ensures that no trouble comes to her merchant friends, that their goods arrive undisturbed, and that their shipments are on time.



Her duties occasionally put Akra in the company of other well-respected members of the community: politicians, judges, lawyers, policemen, and others. She's in a unique position to solve problems and help out these friends, in return for special considerations at other times. Akra has been known to deliver gifts out of the goodness of her own heart, as a gesture of goodwill, or to smooth over ruffled feathers.

These gifts and favors have sometimes come in the form of urgent loans, protection from unsavory elements, or much-needed items. Akra has helped to put someone's children through school and delivered a brand-new boat, just to see the look of joy on the recipient's face! After all relationships and goodwill make the world go 'round.
