You see a tall woman, eight feet at least in height, with four muscular arms plus two leathery wings. Scales cover her shoulders, shins, feet, and powerful, dragon-like tail. She wears a loose robe-like top over a chest wrapped in what seems like cloth bandages ‹It is normal dress for my people.› and loose knee-length breeches. No shoes, not that she needs them, for her scaly feet end in large claws. Her long hair is like pale gold, shimmering as it moves. Her ears are long and pointed, her eyes grey like true-silver, her expression gentle. ‹Until I need to be otherwise.›

Allendrith of the family fin-Kanno was born on Sothendra during times of peace. And throughout most of her life, that peace was maintained. But, during the spring of her seven hundred seventy-fifth year, the Illanian Star Empire began attacking Endri-nâi colonies, attempting to annex them. Attempts at negotiation from the Sothendra Coalition Government were met with ridicule and hostility, and a threat against the homeworld itself. With no choice left, her people went to war against the Illanians, and Allendrith, at that point a spacetech mechanic, was called into military service.
The war lasted fourteen years and left thousands dead on both sides - or, rather, thousands of the Endri-nâi and three million Illanians. Nearly destroyed by the unexpected ferocity of the peace-loving children of Sothendra, the Illanians finally surrendered and agreed to terms of peace. Allendrith put away her weapons and once again became a mechanic, but memories of the war still haunt her.
