APPEARANCE
Asher has spiky, light brown hair, gray eyes, and dimples. He is five foot nine and narrowly built. He usually wears button downs with the sleeves pushed to his elbows, and a pair of slacks or dress jeans. He is rarely seen without his gray fedora.
PERSONALITY
• Asher is bold, practical, perceptive, and original.
• He is a doer, despite the way his mind is constantly whirling with ideas.
• Asher is an incorrigible flirt. He has a natural charisma and charm.
• Purposefully irritating, he sees how far he can push people. It's part of how he reads them. He is often insensitive about it.

HISTORY
Bertram Asher MacKenzie was born September 26 to a conservative family of six in rural Georgia. He didn't much enjoy school or working in his father's mechanic's shop. It wasn't that the information or the work wasn't interesting, but the structured nature was very unappealing to him.
As soon as he graduated, he took his full scholarship to a university in New York City, with no intention of ever going back. He reinvented himself in his college years. He switched to going by his middle name instead of Bert, took to dressing in an urban suave manner, and launched himself into the world of college social life, keeping up his grades just enough to stay on track for graduation. His second semester of his junior year, he got bored and dropped out.
He flitted from job to job, city to city, for a year, before discovering a talent for solving problems. He finally settled in Chicago and opened a private investigation firm on a whim.
HOBBIES AND FUN FACTS
• Asher ran track in middle school and part of high school, until his dad had him work in the mechanic's shop instead.
• He refers to the year he spent switching from job to job as his "road trip" year.
• The only person in his family he still keeps in touch with is his younger sister Hannah, more from her persistence than his. He will occasionally bail her out of whatever trouble she gets herself into.
