• Description

  Bast is somewhat tall for his people, dark skinned and jovial looking. His eyes are the traditional bluish grey of his tribe and his hair is a light brown than most. He wears it in dredlocks, almost always pulled back from his face by a bandana. He has a water symbol tattooed on his right deltoid, but is otherwise unmarked.
  
  His clothing his usual to his Tribe as well; a blue coat with a fur-lined hood and thick pants and boots. In warmer climates, he sheds the under layer of clothing so his arms are free as his overcoat is sleeveless.

• Biography

  Growing up in the scattered townships of the Southern Water Tribe, Bast was coveted as a bender. He was trained as a warrior like most all the men of this village, but his spirit in fighting lacked as he himself is rather a pacifist. He instead learned to heal in his own time and has used his skills all around his town to keep people healthy and unhurt. His first patient was a polar mouse who had a nasty run-in with a polar dog belonging to the town folk. Having healed the mouse, it became quite grateful and stuck around with the young bender.. probably because he was being fed. Bast named the small mouse Falu and carries him around in his coat. The mouse is a feisty animal and fiercely loyal to Bast, though he forgets his size sometimes.
  
  When the new Avatar was named, word came late to the boy's town. He had always loved the idea of an Avatar bringing together the nations in harmony and has a deep reverence for the Master Bender. News of Avatar Korra's defection to Republic City reached Bast and the boy was struck with a great wanderlust; he set out for the Avatar's city in hopes to meet the great Korra. With nothing but Falu and a pack of the essentials he set off to Republic City, completely naive to the turmoil rampant on its streets.
