• In Brief Detail

  The physical stuff.
  Budgie leans far more towards the avian side of the spectrum than the humanoid.
  It's very obvious that she is a bird, from the wings to the chicken legs and lack of hair.
  She has wide hips and bony shoulders with a clear lack of any cleavage. Instead she
  possesses a breast bone common to birds that lends to an almost barrel shaped chest.
  Her eyes are not quite on the sides of her head, but she will still turn her
  face to the side in order to better scrutinize something of interest. She is covered
  entirely in feathers of varying size (save for her legs) and those wings of hers often
  cause a problem in the wardrobe compartment. When it's warm she can get away with tying
  cloth around them to make tops, but in the colder months often goes through the frustration
  of trimming her own flight feathers in order to wear bulkier clothing more comfortably.
  
  Some notes on behavior.
  Budgie possesses the twitchy, jerky movement of birds and will tilt and swivel her head
  impulsively when she's not paying attention to her body. Her feathers shift and stand up
  in response to mood, and this is especially noticeable on her head and neck. She will
  chirp and chitter, and occasionally click her beak together in pensiveness or frustration.
  She is capable of flight, but not for extremely long distances. Even shorter distances
  when her wings have been clipped. In either situation she'd prefer to climb instead.
  It is not unusual for her to doze off while standing and remain upright.
  
  A bit of personality.
  As expected of her breeding, Budgie is - for the most part - a cheerful individual.
  Her occupation requires a friendly and approachable air, and usually she delivers,
  but the bird is easily riled and especially by those who openly doubt what she creates.
  She'll try to mask her distaste for the sake of a sale or the situation, but doesn't
  take insults to her pride too lightly. Capable of turning eerie in an instant, and
  rather talented when it comes to taking advantage of her surrounding atmosphere.
  
  Budgie's character alignment is best described as chaotic good.

• Specialization

  Budgie is a craftswoman of jewelry and 'magical' charms created from a variety of wooden beads and found objects, be it rope and seed pods or the bones of small animals. These creations and their assigned abilities are entirely of the bird's own invention - nothing Budgie makes actually has magical properties. That doesn't rule out any kind of placebo effect however, so if your character winds up with one of her pieces in their possession, feel free to use that to their advantage/disadvantage! Whether she believes her own hype or not is up for debate.

  -- Jewelry:
  Wooden necklaces (example)
  Long strands of beads, often carved by Budgie herself, are strung together with the occasional larger
  bead to add to the design. They are often stained or painted, and can be very ornate for the right price.
  Simple pendants (example)
  Wooden pendants strung onto hemp material, often with a simple design carved or painted onto them.
  The pendants themselves can most definitely range in size, color and shape, and may even be inlaid
  with stones or jewels on occasion or by request - especially if Budgie is provided with the material.
  Hemp necklaces and bracelets (example)
  Beads, sea shells or seeds are woven into hemp that could be dyed, braided into a design, or a combination of the two. Bracelets are not commonly made unless for commission, since they have certain sizing requirements.
  Other wares include earrings, carved figures, and if the pay out is good, she'll try her skills
  at just about anything else. Budgie especially enjoys collaborations with other artists.

  These are usually incorporated into jewelry and offered for medicinal or spiritual purposes.
  Or if Budgie thinks the customer 'could really use it'. She may not divulge their 'meanings',
  which are a combination of her own ideas and those absorbed from many different cultures.
