Once upon a time there was a flamingly gay boy...his name was Calvin...


Calvin's father, Edwin Nouvel, who was born circa 1947 in Iowa, was a small town preacher. Calvin's mother, Ruth, was born in Nebraska. They were married July 23, 1979.

Calvin Nouvel was born January 2, 1986, in Peru, Indiana. When Calvin was fifteen years old, he was thrown out of his home and disowned by his family for being gay. From there Calvin took to the streets, making money anyway he could. Be it odd jobs at businesses like sweeping the floors or stocking up, to writing small columns for a local newspaper.

During that time he met a man named De Pere, Dee was ten years older than Calvin and a much more experienced writer. He took the young man under his wing, not only in writing but also in love. Dee ended up inspiring Calvin to become an author, and his experience with romance while with Dee spurned his interest in Romantic Novels. While Dee is widely thought to have been abusive, Calvin only ever says that it was not the best relationship. When the two broke up Calvin had just finished his first novel Happenstance and it was set to publish the following year. About that time Calvin adopted a shelter dog that he named Hobbes, the tiny Chihuahua appears on every dust jacket of his published works.

Since then Calvin has remained romantically uninvolved until he met a man named Moriel, it has been said that their relationship is quite serious. His writing has continued for years, and he recently released his 12th novel.

Calvin appears in the tabloids quite often these days. It started when he was outed during an attack by a group of homophobic men, the attack was quite brutal and Calvin was seriously injured. More recently he was in the tabloids because of a "sudden disappearance". Calvin claimed to have been a victim of a random wormhole incident in the Nexxus, but it is widely thought that it was a publicity stunt to increase the sale of his books after a rather slow year.

Calvin has no higher education to speak of. Being a high school dropout because of his status with his parents, most of his "learning" so to speak was found through life. He hasn't gone to get his GED but he has considered it on more than one occasion. He does preach education to his fans and does wish that he'd had more options as a young man.

Diagnosed in June of 2012 with Lupus, Calvin is still struggling to adjust to his new lifestyle. More information to come as Calvin continues on the road to living with a disease.

Calvin has never had a fixed writing style when it comes to the romantic novel genre. He tends to bounce around quite a bit, however the one thing that can be said is that his novels all roll together into one big world story.

Most of his novels end with a major character death, however he has been known to simply "make their lives rough". The next novel always has a minor character from the one preceding it, and each end up tying back to one another in some format. There has only ever been one sequel per-say and that was his 12th novel entitled "Happy Endings" which saw the return of the heroine from his first novel Happenstance.

He has done a few short stories, but none of enough merit to deserve titling.
