Damoiseau

His aura was that of helplessness, a demure figure wrapped in silks and softness with eyes that begged attention - but the sharp teeth that hid behind those pink lips, as well as the deadly claws that lived in the large paws on his feet spoke otherwise, though that empty collar around his neck was an invitation that might make any point of danger seem moot. Organic weapons hidden from the world until the moment he needed to use them, Dami was a picturesque vision of fragile beauty. And that was the whole trick of it.

All of his kind, the Naos, are born into positions of templehood and scattered to humanity. Naos of the Hunt, for example, traveled between hunting villages and the prayers, offerings, and wishes of the communities would either gain his boon or bane. Naos of the Rising Tide would take the prayers and offerings given and turn it into guidance for sailors coming home.

No one really knew where they came from. It was clear that they were fae. And whether or not they did was promised was entirely up in the air.

Damoiseau is the Naos of Deception. It was his calling, his forte, his livelihood. When he came to be, it was obvious he wasn't like his kind. The caretakers made valiant attempts to raise him into a more beneficial role, but their efforts soon proved to be in vain. A very bratty child, he did grate on the nerves of his caretakers so much so that when he was but a mere century old, he was asked to leave, and never return.

Now in his 600s, still a young thing, he bends mortals to his whims and gets away with mostly whatever he desires.

Legends say that upon a successful 'blessing' to another being, he gains an additional star in the mass of constellation markings he has on his body.

Entertainer As his garb might suggest, Dami has done all he can to perfect the art of visual entertainment. Draped in silks translucent enough to leave little to the imagination, he employs what appears to be a Japanese-style fan in his performances, enchanting those who might stop to watch with his airy twists and bends. If sky silks are available, he can perform aerially as well, though those opportunities are few and far between.

Private Performances If requested, and if the request comes with enough offered coin, Dami has been known to make his performances a little more personal. Though he makes sure it's understood that these involve plenty of touching - a private performance from him is a very hands-on experience. For extra gold, the customer may request to be hands on themselves. (F-list)

Incense Curiously enough, Dami makes and sells his own incense. It comes from a wide variety of plants and oils, and is rumored to have a wide range of effects. Whether or not this is actually snake oil is up for interpretation, though he does have a few repeat customers that will swear up and down to better sleep, or a more tight focus during tasks while his incense is burning.

Pickpocket A less than noble person may be willing to persuade him to nick things for them for the right price. The pay will depend on the difficulty of the target and the item being stolen. It is possible to simply sweet talk him into petty theft if the bounty can be shared, as he more than delights in the thrill of simply getting away with something.

Diety Despite being outcast, Dami tends to take his role as a temple quite seriously. He thrives off the spite of others, and while he absolutely lets his status as a figure of worship go straight to his head, he is more than willing to spill the tea with people and simply let them be bitter. Gifts and offerings, as well as pats to his ego may result in some kind of karmatic justice taking place on the person being complained about. He makes no promises with this, and the service can go both ways. If he feels inadequately satisfied by something someone brings to him, or they simply vent without his input or giving him something, the person doing the complaining might just find themselves a little worse for wear on the situation.

Beauty techniques The creature is incredibly vain, and as such as mastered quite a few techniques to make himself visually appealing. He may offer this service to others for a small fee, be it hair washing and braiding/styling, a manicure, or just general freshening up. This may be the only kindness he offers people (though at a price) with no ulterior motive. He genuinely enjoys making himself, and others, look pretty.

Damoiseau is, at heart, a trickster. More often than not he is ill-intentioned, wooing suitors into private rooms for his own selfish desires. Most will get what they pay for, be it an easy lay or an exotic dance. Though this naos has stickier fingers than one might expect, and those who employ his services have been known to be missing an extra coin or two once he leaves.

Rarely does one find this out until much longer after the fact. Those wishing to call him out on his tricks would be advised that Dami fights dirty, using any and all tricks up his sleeves to get away from the situation with his stolen goodies in tow. That is not to say he is beyond reasoning, though be prepared to take on a little more than one might have bargained for both parties to leave the room unscathed.
