  • Biography

    Dena was born in Japan in the late 1700s. She was born to a merchant father who preferred to live around and with humans. When she exposed their kitsune status to the village in which they lived, she moved with her family to Edo. While in Edo, she fell in love with a young blacksmith. After developing an intimate relationship with him, he too discovered her true race. Feeling betrayed, he attempted to kill her. She fled (but not before cursing his entire family's males with a short life with a guaranteed horrific death) and took her sister Suzume to the capital Kyoto. In Kyoto they both became Maiko and eventually Geiko. They were known for their everlasting youth and beauty. They were active for many years, regarded with great respect and mystery until the second world war. When the hard times began, they fled the country (unknowing as to the status of their parents and brother, of whom they've kept rather close contact with) to England. They tried to adjust to the new lifestyle and learned English, which explains her British accent. Shortly afterward, World War II began. The two struggled to survive. Hearing reports of Japan, they decided not return. During a Blitz raid, Suzume was killed. Stricken with grief, Dena began to wander. She eventually settled and decided to seek higher education. She successfully completed medical school and became a pathologist. She has since settled in a forest with her mate and their two children, living an exciting life.
