  The Paladin's Honorable Code of Conduct
  
  The Champions of the Summer Son are chosen warriors who uphold the righteous duties and divine standards of our Lord, the Summer Child. These warriors are blessed with the divine power of magic, a gift bestowed upon them for conducting their servitude with devotion, chivalry, faith and honor. To betray the code is to betray the self and all a Paladin stands for.
  
  
  ⛮ A Paladin will never lie, nor slander others, nor deceive or hide her intentions. A Paladin's word is her bond. ⛮
  
  ⛮ A Paladin does not steal, loot, or desecrate the final resting places of any living creature, whether they be heathens and heretics, or whether they be patrons of faith and honor. A Paladin will not steal, even out of total necessity. ⛮
  
  ⛮ A Paladin will always be honorable in combat. She will not ambush, waylay, nor make use of subterfuge or distraction. She will conduct her combat honorably, face to face. She will always challenge her target to a duel if she wishes to attack first. She will not employ unfair advantages against her opponent. She will not use traps or lethal poisons. She must recognize when her martial prowess has been outmatched with humility and honesty, and she will not become vain or haughty if she is named the victor. ⛮
  
  ⛮ A Paladin will always grant quarter to her prisoner if they beg mercy. The prisoner will then become her charge - to be adequately housed and fed until the criminal can be transferred to the local authorities. A Paladin will always obey the Law, for her lesser duty is to the charters of the land. ⛮
  
  ⛮ It is dishonorable to retreat if she will die for a worthy cause. ⛮
  
  ⛮ A Paladin will never kill needlessly, be they heathen or beast. ⛮
  
  ⛮ A Paladin will conduct herself with modesty, chivalry, decency, honestly, and humility. She will always come to the aid of those in need. She is permitted to accept coin or reward in exchange for her good deeds, but be wary, as greed shall spoil her soul and she will Fall. ⛮
  
  ⛮ She practices temperance, and will not overindulge or abuse the temptations of the drink. She is virtuous and chaste. ⛮
