• Description

  Edward Jones. A rambunctious young teen with an almost complete abandon for his own well being. Alien invaders, monsters, demons, robots, and even gods are on the list of things he'll stand in the way of just for the sake of having fun. It's not just what humans typically see as evil that have to fear from him either, celestial beings, priestesses, and even normal boys and girls are all potential targets for the grinning boy. Teasing and terrorizing or laughing and socializing, one can't ever be too sure of what they'll get when dealing with Ed!
  
  Luckily for him, Eddie isn't human. The fuzzy round ears on the top of his head and the little poof of a tail just above his backside can contest to that. Edward is a werebear, a race to be respected - or feared. Stronger than a typical human and even more durable than that. Forcing a grown man would be nothing for the boy, and he can easily shrug off being struck with a car or shot when in his kumamimi form if the adrenaline is pumping! These boons do come at a cost, the very common metal copper serves as his bane; if treated correctly just touching the stuff is enough sending him recoiling and screaming. Even without treatment it can be an irritant, causing rashes and making his skin feel like it's on fire.
  
  In his younger years his lineage served nothing but a detriment to him. His parents and their parents before them found trouble finding reliable sources of fair paying work - being stronger than everyone else simply meant they were afraid of you. Growing up in the poorer side of things meant bad neighborhoods. Edward and his siblings were encouraged to hide their ears at all times by their parents, though not told why. Edward got a firsthand taste of why as a young, trusting lad.
  
  After playing with some other kids his hat slipped, giving them a look at his ears. A pair of older children noticed and took an interest in the boy, asking him to play with them and making all sorts of promise to get him to follow. His reluctance gave way after time and they got their way, separating him from the children. Once they were alone the little bear was shoved about and shouted at, the older kids copying things they heard from their deadbeat parents. Things escalated when they figured out that he wasn't able to fight back. Pushing him over the table one of them pinned his arms behind his back while the other hefted up a blade and went for his neck. The hacking made the boy burst into shrieks, blow after blow failing make its way through the werebear's bone.
  
  Edward's older sister, Amy, came to his rescue and taught the teens just what it was their parents' feared, what made them hateful and spiteful but it was a short lived lesson. Even though the officers and the proceeding judge would've liked to see the girl let off the hook for saving her younger sibling's life, there was no way the public and the media would have it. Amy was charged with two counts of manslaughter and would see a year in a juvenile facility followed by two years in prison with a possibility of probation.
  
  Naturally life got harder for Edward and his family. They were forced to move out of fear of being targeted with further attacks over the case, Edward's father was forced to take a vacation while being transferred - to spend time with his family during the trying said the higher ups, just at half his normal pay rate. It would've been a miserable struggle to keep a sense of normalcy within the family, but they were given an opportunity. A private military academy sought to enroll the young werebear, promising him education and shelter while promising his parents monthly payments that would let them and his siblings move into better a neighborhood. It wasn't much of a choice, they accepted.
  
  Eddie has been living astray from his family for years at this academy. He has dorm room on the campus, he's given the education he was promised with some extra helping of P.E., and he's able to live without hiding who he is - both on and off school grounds. He's even given an allowance based on his performance in 'extra curricular activities'.
