• Description

  The Krittkiissskktik's physical appearance is similar to most humanoids, though they share some common traits with arachnids. They have six arms along the sides of their torso - the lower four they usually keep folded across their stomachs and hidden under a jacket when around others. They have four solid black eyes, the lower pair able to see from red to ultraviolet light, while the upper pair can see infrared to violet, and they often keep the upper pair closed when not hunting. When closed, the upper eyes appear more like two lines across their foreheads.
  While their six arms are relatively strong compared to humans (all together allowing them about the same strength as Vulcans), they do tend to keep the lower two covered and use them only when necessary. Their hearing is slightly lower than human levels, but they are capable of picking up even slight vibrations through their body, allowing them to sense movement on conductive surfaces, such as metal, rock or cables.
  Primitive Krittkii have bioluminescent spots that change colour in accordance to their mood and external stimuli, and brightness depending on how intense that mood is. The colours are relative.

• Biography

  Faraniel's planet is split between two sister races. Her sub-race are much more primitive than the Krittkiisssktik who live on the civilised 'prime' continent; her kind were still living in wood houses and fighting for food when First Contact occurred, while their 'civilised' sister race had already made it to the fringes of their solar system. They hadn't even begun to wonder whether their world was flat or round, or even discovered there were other races by that point.
  Their society is hierarchical, with a 'king' established by strength and tactical prowess, ruling over and organising their subjects. All her race are loyal to their ruler to the death, and it was to this figurehead they turned when they were first introduced to the universe at the hands of a group of pirates looking to plunder the fledgeling world for resources. Were it not for these 'primitives', both sister races would likely have been defeated, but their fanatical devotion, uncanny organisation and unorthodox combat tactics was enough to drive off the pirates until a passing Federation vessel intervened. Due to the circumstances, and the 'primitive' leader's adamant stance that they wished to stay out of everything until they reached their own space age, the Federation offered only protection, with membership a possibility when both races were on equal ground.
