• Personality

  Idalia has a kind heart, and is fierce in her determination to help others. She would swiftly give her life to save another, especially those close to her. She is passionate about staying true to who she is, and not letting fear or doubt overtake her. Even when she does have her doubts, she does her best to keep it tucked away, knowing she must stay strong for her companions. She stands for what is right. She gets along with most everyone, though has had a few conflicts with Sera. She does maintain a friendship with the Jenny, even so. Her relationship with Vivienne was rough at the beginning, and still is upon occasions that concern Cole. She is especially close friends with Dorian, Solas, Cole, Cassandra, and Varric. Her friendship with Cassandra is one of understanding and strength. She respects Blackwall for atoning for his mistakes, and is friends with him, as well. She gets on with Bull well enough, and supports him on the choices he makes. Idalia is/was in a romantic relationship with Solas, and let him remove her vallaslin. Despite his departure, she still loves him, as he does her, even though things came to a {hopefully temporary} end.

• Biography

  Idalia was generally very independent in her clan. She lived peacefully for a time, happy with her mother and father, and her clan. When she was 14, both her mother and father, who had gone hunting, were murdered by mercenaries hired by the local nobles, for the Lord that disliked that the Dalish were roaming so close to his lands. Thought that by killing some Dalish, he could scare them off
  
  Idalia grieved mostly by herself, because she wanted to be seen as strong. She was glad to help as much as she needed to. She second-guessed herself a lot when she was younger, but she always held a strong front. She worked herself hard from a young age, keeping herself in the best shape possible.
  
  She was given the vallaslin of Elgar'Nan, god of vengeance, because at the young age of 15 she found her parents killers, and in her anger and grief, killed them for what they had done. When the Keeper found out, she was shocked, though knowing what the humans had done, it wasn't exactly seen as a tragedy. She earned a vicious and jagged scar across her back from this fight, but even so, does not regret it.
  Idalia often thinks back to this, now that she's older, and wonders what she should have done differently. Though she knows it is best to not linger on the past, despite how hard it must be.
  
  Things with her clan was pretty good, and she did well at keeping up her strong front for everyone, and she continued to do so in the Inquisition. Upon joining the Inquisition, she was wary of most all she met, but she remained polite, and very slowly developed friendships. They each had her back as she had theirs, growing deep relationships with her companions. Then, slowly fell into a very deep love with Solas.
  
  She doesn't hide anything from Solas, which shows how much she truly trusts and cares for him, for not many see inside her walls. She lets him in, and she loves him with every piece of her being. From the first kiss in the fade where she found herself so shocked she'd done such a bold thing, but when he kissed her back, her heart soared. He made her feel stronger, he made he feel more confident.
  
  The kiss on the balcony from Solas is intense and passionate. She's just so happy to have finally found someone. She's grinning from ear to ear the rest of the day.
  
  Then there comes the break up. Her vallaslin is removed, such a huge part of her life, it was. Tied to her clan, and more importantly, to her father. But she didn't want something that represented a bad past, and as she says, it is better to live in the present than linger in the past. So, vallaslin gone, she is bared and vulnerable to Solas, and she loves him so much. And then, he says they cannot be. He says he cannot distract her from her duties, and she is hurt. Did she do something wrong? She must have. There has to be a reason! This is where her second guessing and anxiety returns. She desperately declares her love to him, which makes the moment all the more painful. He leaves her, and she stays in that glen for quite a long time, grieving alone and taking the time to collect herself.
  
  She tries to not linger on it, though it proves to be one of the hardest things she's ever done. She went to her closest friend in the Inquisition, Dorian, to talk over her feelings. He sympathized with her and listened, and she'd done for him all the times something had him down.
  
  When she takes down Corypheus, she expected answers from Solas, some sort of consolation. He is gone before she has a chance to speak with him. She is devastated by the fact that he left, again wondering what could possibly be the reason.
  
  Two years pass, and while fighting the Qunari using Eluvians to place Gaatlok within Thedas' capitals, she fights fiercely, though she is terribly afraid. The mark is growing worse, the pain immeasurable and she isn't ready to die; not while knowing she can still help the world. Her walls crack and her friends see her fear. Despite this fear, she continues onward. Freeing Ataashi to put an end to the Dragon's Breath plan, she works forward to the source.
  
  The Viddisala tells her they are after an agent of Fen'Harel; Solas. She can hardly believe it, for she didn't expect to see him again. She races to reach him before the Viddisala, the Anchor growing in intensity and pain. Finally, she makes it to him, hears him speaking with the Qunari, before turning the Viddisala to stone. She goes to him, though can't say much as her mark flares. He subdues it, giving them time to tall, something both thought they wouldn't be able to do again.
  
  Solas tells her everything, and she is hurt. She loves him still, with her entire being. She tells him that he needn't walk this needn't walk this path alone. She offers for him to come back with her. He refuses her offer, not wanting her to be burdened by the choice he must make; for he sees no other choice.
  
  Telling her of his plan, she tells him that the world shouldn't have to burn. Tries to convince him to stay. Obsessed with a goal of righting a wrong that can no longer be righted, especially by that which he plans, he continues, despite the pain another separation will cause. Her mark is killing her.
  
  Solas kisses her as the mark flares, taking the mark, and with it, the limb to which it was attached. He departs into the Eluvian, and she's no choice to go back to the Exalted Council, with the assistance of her friends, Dorian, Cassandra, and Varric.
  
  The marked arm amputated from the elbow down, she makes her way into the Council. She chooses to disband the Inquisition, for corruption was that which she vowed to stay away from. With the help of her friends and her own strength, she is confident that she may be able to sway the Dread Wolf's heart.
  
  The dreams of the black wolf come often, and her heart hurts after each and every one, a sliver of hope to remaining, slowly growiny. The dreams are a reminder each night to keep trying, for there is a chance she can save Solas from himself.
