    Jack is the child of O'Brien Kelley Sr. and Khepri Essam-Kelley. Jack has one older sibling from his father's first marriage, a sister named Ava Pearl. O'Brien's first wife died in a house fire 'accident', and was left to raise Ava when she was little. Soon after, he moved around between states and then moved to Egypt where he met Khepri. O'Brien was a bit aggressive, but tried to be caring. Once Jack was born, O'Brien started to get much more hostile.

    When Jack was six and Ava was thirteen, Ava ran away, leaving Jack to fend for himself and his mother. Khepri left with Jack, and moved away to the New York City to get away from O'Brien. But when Jack was nine, Khepri died as well, in a car wreck. He was sent to a foster home agency where he was adopted by a couple who couldn't have kids of their own.

    Jack had since moved out once he reached the legal age, and hoped from city to city.
